hell yeah^. Those shops that only carry one brand are usually so fuckin overpriced its ridiculous how their in business. "yeah we'll install your deck and 4 speakers. that'll be $180 bucks please" like whaaaat the fuck. if you cant do that shit in 20 minutes yourself, maybe you should get ripped off...

guru's in san jose where I go and get all my shit from unless I see some cheap shit on craiglist. They got a lot of shit and are pretty flexible on prices

I stopped at this post...

No hate intended my dude but...

That statement is true until you get into the late late 90's...

Even before that on some higher end models, fuckin with sound system You had better know what your doin or else that bitch(the car) wont even start.

If the shit is basic(not sayin yours is), then hell yea..you can rip shit out and re-wire yourself....damn near

bullet points....

:pay attention to RMS!!!!!.....FUCK THE MAX POWER RATING!!...<---TRU SHIT!!

:correct me if Im wrong.....each speaker has its own enclosure dimensions if any that it will perform its best.

:Whether it be a top of the line system from top to bottom (deck, wires, amp, speakers etc..) or a low level system.....if you match up the numbers right...your shit will vary from sounding pretty decent all the way to slap status.....

:dont forget the DynaMat!!!!!

I couldnt find the video I wanted from SMD but this one is cool..

I'm not sure how I feel about Lanzar's. They sound pretty good for the most part but they seem so cheap. I've almost bought some a million times it feels like but never have.

Amp ratings are b.s. most of the time. True RMS is supposed to be 70.7% of the max power rating. Years ago, amps had to be regulated because people's cars were catching on fire and crap and ever since then, amp ratings seem like a lie. I have a Boss 1100 Watt amp that only pushes out about 150 watts. Make sense? Not really, but somehow they get away with advertising that it's 1100 Watts. You want to look at the RMS rating for sure though because that's what you'll be able to push consistently without burning up your amp or blowing your speakers.

lol I have a 1999 Toyota and the security system shut down and wouldn't let me start the car when I put in my head unit but that was because the battery was disconnected.

I ordered my amp last night. Went with this smaller one than I originally planned but everything I've read about it is good. It's a beast for how small it is and it's 1 ohm stable at 1000W, for $115 out the door.

Anyone ever have this album? Brilliant concept, surprised it never caught on. It was a bass cd but he was rapping over it. Anyone I know that's ever heard this usually names this as the hardest hittin song they've ever heard.

I was thinkin about gettin some subs since I have the money and never owned any, but dont know any knowledge about systems. Also 1 dude from work told me i didnt have to do much since my car is newer and I have Bose speakers.
Basically I jus want to play my music loud sounding clear and heavy bass since I listen to both rap and heavy metal.

here are SO many options out there now without breaking the bank. Just depends on the vehicle and how much you really want to spend.
