US rapper Kreayshawn reveals she made 1 cent from her debut album

From what I understand from reading the articles a couple years ago the mil she got from Sony was a signing bonus after a bidding war (lol still can't believe there was a bidding war for Kreayshawn) not an advance for an album, so it shouldn't be recoupable.
Sony/Columbia hasn't dropped her off the label yet so I'm guessing they made some kind of money off the album, probably from that gimmick where it was only available at Hot Topic, Hot Topic probably bought enough copies and paid Columbia enough for the exclusive to recoup what Columbia spent on the album.
She probably only made a penny off the album because after getting that million signing bonus she probably signed a retarded contract stating she didn't start making any money off the album until it hit certain sales marks that it didn't make and anything before those sales marks were equal to one penny.

Most rappers don't make money off their albums, some don't even make money off their shows since they have so much to recoup. Broke entertainers(especially rappers & singers) are a dime a dozen.

Damn the record label would have owned her life if she had to recoup. I hope for her sake columbia doesn't own the publishing rights to Gucci Gucci for signing that deal.
