The problem HERESY is that "deal" would never have flied. Floyd's offer was to give Pacquiao a $40 million flat fee CUTTING OUT Top Rank whom Pacquiao was and is under contract with, and be promoted by Golden boy. Even if Pacquiao would have accepted he would have been sued by Top Rank and the fight would never have happened because Top Rank would have won in court, easily. This is like when Mayorga signed a deal with someone else while under contract with Don King and King prevented the fight. The offer from Floyd, not only financially at the time was crap but legally it was impossible. Floyd is no dummy. He knew Pac was under contract.
So what you're saying is Floyd didn't want the fight?

Umm...allow me to introduce a little critical thinking here...if the issue was about contractual agreement Manny Pacquiao would have stated that as the number one reason why he didn't accept the offer...but he didn't...he stated that he wanted 50/50 which doesn't make sense considering he isn't in Floyd Mayweather's position as a fighter/ promoter...Manny is ONLY a fighter...he has never received over $10 million in PPV money (Floyd got that off the Miquel Cotto fight)...if Manny received any significant PPV money like Floyd and Oscar Dela Hoya did it would have been reflective on his Forbes ledger...Manny made a supposed top side average of $18 million per fight for 3 fights and tallied up $56 million and $6 million off of endorsements...if he would have fought Floyd he would have gotten the extra $22 million which would have represented his PPV inside his guaranteed money...that's it that's all. So the contract issue wasn't what #teampac had brought up...they balked at the PPV black out...

So with the use of critical thinking you break it down like this: Pacquia had 3 fights between July 11th 2011 and June 12 2012 (Shane Mosely, Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradley) netting Manny $56 million average pr fight $18 million (which include Manny's PPV money)...then Bob Arum's take and there you have it. So Floyd's offer was MORE THAN GENEROUS by giving him a $40 million guarantee...numbers don't lie bro...only people do.

LOL my man you spent all that time not even addressing the fact Floyd's offer was a flat fee that cuts out Top Rank, you know what a contract is right?
I understand that...I'm just spotlighting that the offer from a financial standpoint was way more than generous...given the numbers. The contractual obligation wasn't brought up as to why they refused the offer...they said the $40 million with no PPV was the issue. My presentation is to show that that decision to walk away was outrageous.

It doesn't matter how much money Manny takes home its how much he generates.
Uhh...so he generates XXX million for Bob Arum and takes home $18 million...fights for Floyd Mayweather and takes home $40 million with no middle man....states publicly that he would have accepted the offer had Floyd said 50/50 with PPV included...so explain to me what he meant and how was that going to be structured under his current contract with Top Rank? Or maybe that contract didn't mean anything if the numbers were met?

Man, he was under contract with top rank he couldn't simply "cut out the middle man" and take $40m, beating a dead horse here.

Pacquiao said 50/50 cus that's what he deserved. He never said 50/50 and I'll cut out Top Rank.
"I told him, ‘OK, 50-50 [with the money] and I'll agree to everything else,' " Pacquiao said. "I told him I would agree to all of the other things he was demanding. Everything. Even the blood testing he wanted, I would do it. But it had to be 50-50."
Floyd's right hand man Leonard Ellerbe responded to the fact that the fight needs to be split 50-50

"What Manny Pacquiao has to understand, and I don't think he understands this part, is that if the fight ever comes off, he'll never make the kind of money that Floyd makes," Ellerbe said. "That's simply because of the structure of his terrible deal with his promoter. [Pacquiao] is a guy who doesn't know what he makes fight to fight. He has no idea of where the revenue comes from. There's no way he's going to come up with something like that [offer] off the top of his dome."

Bottom line is Pacquiao makes no GOD DAMN sense...

Again they were ranked 1 and 2 or tied for 1. They both had similar ppv and attendence numbers. There is NO WAY that 40 million was fair. However, knowing that Manny is being pimped, it does seem fair from that standpoint, lol.
Manny Pacquiao had lost to Timothy Bradley so they weren't tied for first...so 50/50 is not even fair to Floyd Mayweather...if it's 60/40 and they are splitting $100 million after promoters share, Network share, cost of expense for putting on the event...then that still equates to Mayweather $60 million/ Pacquiao $40 million...so what's the problem?

Do you have a time machine? Are u Floyds promoter? If not who cares? It's almost 2014
Come on bro...when you said Floyd Mayweather didn't think his offer through...I just had to shed some light on that statement...even though you will revert back to "He was under contract"...but you can clearly see from his quotes about the matter he wasn't concerned about that...and Mayweather never mention cutting Bob Arum out...he didn't even have enough time on the phone to get to that point as both parties said the conversation was quick. But I do think Floyd was trying to cut Arum out.

Look you're arguing over semantics over words Pacquiao said. He cleary said 50/50, drug testing whatever no where did he say No Top Rank.

It's pointless, the past. What about moving forward? What about 2014 what will it take? Because that's the point of this thread (who should Floyd fight).

Your timeline is off. Manny hadn't fought Bradley when the offer was made. All of what we are talking about was before the Bradley fight.

Looks like it's going to be Amir Khan.

Mayweather Jr. To Finalize Foe - Says "Pacquiao Who?"

By Edward Chaykovsky

WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs) is looking to finalize his next opponent some time next week. Speaking with reporter David Mayo, Mayweather said he is not thinking about boxing at the moment but intends to get things in motion and hopefully wrap them up next week.

"Next week. I'm looking forward to next week," Mayweather said. "But as for me, right now, I'm not thinking about boxing."

Mayweather is going to return on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. There is heavy speculation that former champion Amir Khan will become his next opponent.

When Mayo asked him about a potential fight with Manny Pacquiao, who returns on April 12th - Mayweather replied with one word - "Who?"

According to Mayo, Mayweather does not appear interested in working with Pacquiao's promoter Top Rank - until CEO Bob Arum steps away from the company. Pacquiao is under contract with Top Rank until the end of 2014.

Im gonna laugh if that fight happens. And if Floyd don't KO Khan, which I think won't happen anyways, I want to listen to what Floyds gonna say after the fight... "I was looking for the KO, but my left pinky toe was hurting but hey, I gave the fans what they wanted!"
