When mass amounts of society, refuses to accept scientific proven facts or theories, such as evolution, simply because it conflicts with their religious beliefs that directly effects intellectual growth, period.
This is a long topic in itself and by no means am I qualified to argue anything related to science but this is a serious question... If we as man evolved from a lesser form such as an ape, why are there still apes roaming the earth? If that's also the case, is there a projection to be some form of super human evolving thousands of years into the future? Monkeys/apes or whatever the heck it is they are saying we evolved from are way stronger than humans for their size. Does the evolution of the mind and body not include physical strength? Will humans basically all be Stephen Hawking a million years from now at this rate?

At this rate, humans appear to be getting dumber. We appear more likely to look like the movie idiocracy 1000 years from now than evolving into something more intelligent or better.

I could research this but honestly don't care enough. How the hell do they determine something is 150,000,000 years old?

In regards to dinosaurs, there are a grip of Christian people/scientists that believe the dinosaurs did exist at one time but died in the flood during the Noah's Ark stage. I can't remember where I'd read it years ago to be honest but haven't there been dinosaur fossils fused into the sides of hills, mountains, and cliffs? Also there are theories that a flood would dramatically increase the aging process. If I'm not mistaken, it doesn't say how long the flood lasted, only that it rained for 40 days and nights. Anyone who has worked near salt water knows how quickly things deteriorate near the ocean. I would imagine that would be true for any artifact of any kind were it subjected to a flood.

Furthermore, Job 40 alludes to a giant animal of some sort called a Behemoth in the Bible which sounds like a dinosaur by the description. There is also mention of the leviathan which sounds a lot like a dragon in Revelations.

Argon Argon dating, I think. There are a number of different dating methods that can be used. There is also radiocarbon dating which I am more familiar with since I am an archaeologist. However, radiocarbon dating does not date far back enough to determine the age of dinosaurs because the half life of radiocarbon doesn't go back that far. But radiocarbon dating can show us that humans populated the earth is for a much longer period then 6,000 years.

Scratch that argon argon dating does not go back that far. they use radiometric dating. argon argon would be used for things like humans earliest ancestors.

After reading through some of the Bible today and whatnot, I guess the 6000 year thing comes from the meticulous genealogy records that the Jewish people have kept. Roughly 2000 years ago Jesus was alive and I guess they estimate that their records before that go to roughly 4000 more years or so. Something to that effect.

Yeeaaah. That's right. The 6,000 year thing isn't directly stated in the bible. However, the information in the bible points to the earth being roughly 6,000 years old based off the geneaology from Adam to Jesus. So you got some extreme Christians who will not budge on that issue.

I've had conversations with christians who find out I am an archaeologist and they say what's the oldest site you've ever worked at. I tell em around 10,000 years old and they go off about how that's not possible.
