Yes

You work for them for 1 weekend a month and then for 2 straight weeks once a year (usually in the summer)

You get to pick a job based on whatever the state you want to join in has available.

You go to normal basic training and AIT right along side the full time active duty soldiers then you go home after training and live life like normal

Also if your state has a disaster you can be called up any time such as fighting wild fires or helping with floods and shit like that and some national guard units deploy to Afghanistan and Iraq
