Its hilarious. The earlier stuff is obviously better than the newer stuff, but at its core, that show is great. The writers actually use real "nerd talk" in terms of what is being discussed in physics and technology.

And Sheldon is one of a kind. The cast is all great. Howard is that dude.

The earlier material was better because there was more science in it. As it became more and more popular, that got increasingly replaced with more regular sitcom stuff.

Sheldon definitely morphed over time as well, and they upped his "silliness" to an unnecessary level IMHO. His child-like naive and sharp narcissistic personality was a perfect storm. Shit kinda went off track in season 5 and on, but his ideologies are still consistent.
