When I was in high school I had a lot of problems with math, my grandfather tried to help me, his advice to me was "Well, just remember, when youre doing that algebra stuff: pi always equals 4. Just plug that in and youll be fine."
He got a football scholarship, worked his way to starting halfback by mid-season, then he got hurt, played 2 games with 2 broken ribs. Scored 5 td's in those games, then couldn't play anymore and had to come back home.

He's in several area sports halls of fame for football, baseball and track. He led scouts and coached championship baseball teams, and theres a ball field named after him in concord. He's been named 'First Citizen of Concord'. And he's whoop your monkey ass.
