Cod damnit! Looks like I couldn't fool my first choice for grad-studies into thinking I'm smart, fucking assholes. Oh well, I'll get to do my grad school at the place that offered me a TA position and fuck mad undergraduate girls to help better their grades. Yeeeaaah.

I'm thinking of joining the Navy. They will pay for my doctorate, and pay me while in school. Only problem is - i'll have to work in the fucking military.
I currently work for an archaeology consulting firm. They are considering helping me out with funding my research but it's still just being talked about. We'll see what happens.

Thats dope... I'm going to be in like 200k debt, and been running shit through my head. I'm trying to figure out which would put out ahead, and have a better retirement.

most doctoral programs in the sciences have built in financial support. If they dont, its a shitty program.
You mean like fasfa aid? If so, yea getting the loans, and funding is no issue... that loan also tacks on living expenses. Which when graduating will set you back around 180-250k in total... for all medical professionals (MD/DO/DDS/DPM).

No, I mean a stipend that comes either from an RAship which comes out of your lab's grant money if they have enough to pay for you, or from a TAship which the department pays. Usually a program will garnette you 3 or 4 years of funding, and well funded (which often, though not always, overlaps with good) labs usually have no problem supporting you.
