So why was Roy Jones impressed with the way Berto fought? He said he showed something he didn't think he had in him. The Ghost fought like a hoe straight up, hes gonna get murked by Mayweather i know we can agree on that.
Guerrero did what he had to do and won, can't hate on dude. And I use to roast him bad for running his mouth!!!! Berto was outclassed straight up IMO! He thought it was easy and the fight was far from that! But we do agree, mayweather will break guerrero down!!!!

No Canelo vs mayweather??? Weak as Fuck, too good to be true I guess. Guerrero is the real deal but to be honest nothing he has done has even gave me the slightest impression that he could pose a threat to Mayweather. I see this going the distance with ghost winning maybe 3 -4 rounds. I could be wrong since its hard to judge guerrero on his last fight since he was out of the ring for so long. Just my two cents.

Canelo doesnt deserve to fight Floyd yet? He has to beat a top fighter in his division first. Guerrero's last 2 opponents are better than anyone that Canelo has ever beaten. Got Em!!

Ill bet money Canelo destroys guerrero if they ever fought, therefore making me rather see Canelo vs mayweather. Like I said though just my opinion and as a fan I wanted to see Alvarez vs mayweather like a lot of other fans did. Oh well Canelo should drop berto because it seems that's the ticket to fighting Mayweather. More and more I think about it, I don't think Floyd wants nothing to do with Canelo. My two cents.

Who cares if Canelo would destroy Guerrero, that is irrelevant. Canelo needs to beat someone before he calls out the champ! I just want to see Mayweather fight period as he is my fav fighter. I think either fight should be cool. Guerrero stepped up 2 classes and earned the fight simple as that. And miss me with this Floyd scared shit. Floyd is scared of Manny, Floyd is scared of Canelo, Floyd is scared of Martinez. I guess when u are the best and there is nuthin for haters to say they have to resort and say u are scared haha. Yall kill me with that bullshit! I wonder why Canelo wont fight Trout? Hmmmmmm......Got Em!!

I normally dont even respond to u because u have no clue about boxing. With that said when did Mayweather say who the fuck is Martinez? He should be saying who the fuck is Canelo because he aint beat a twig of an opponent! Dude learn about boxing. Canelo dont call no shots, Mayweather does. Why does Mayweather call the shots, because he earned it just like Guerrero earned this fight not Canelo. Now if Canelo fights and beats Trout etc....then maybe hell deserve a shot at the best in the business. Got Em!!

Guerrero has been one of my favorite fighters, if not my favorite, for years. I'm glad to see him get the opportunity for he and his family after everything they've been through and pray for their future.

Aside from that, not sure how I feel about the fight. Robert is a big welterweight and always been a strong dude, but he's gotten away from who he used to be as a fighter. I thought he was a good and crafty lefthander that was hard to hit early in his career. Then he went on that knockout streak for awhile but seemed to lose that pop as he moved up in weight. He used to throw a great uppercut with the left hand or boxed well from the outside. Seems like most of that is gone now. His reflexes don't seem to be that great, he isn't fast enough to box from the outside and may or may not have that punching power he once did (even considering the Berto knockdowns and swelling). He's shown some grit and his size should present some problems for Floyd.

I worry that Floyd's straight right and lead left hook will still be an issue for Guerrero, even if Floyd has lost a step. Floyd usually turns his opponents well and he's a lot stronger in the clinch than people think he is. AND, the referee tends to not let guys lock him up a whole lot in a clinch without warning of taking points away so I don't think Guerrero could even fight like he did against Berto since that ref did a terrible job.

I would pick Floyd here buy a 116-112 or 117-111 range. Also wouldn't count out Robert getting frustrated in the fight as a lot of guys seem to do and start to foul or get out of his gameplan.

Angulo should run from that fight vs. Canelo. Angulo is one of my favorites but he hasn't shown to be that level of fighter

You all talk like Canelo ain't tried to fight a good fighter.....

It ain't his fault......

Nor is it his fault that Mosley was old by the time he got to him.
I never said he aint tried, I said he hasnt. Big difference. Tryin to fight someone versus doin so are 2 different things. He doesnt get points for trying. Why not fight Trout then? Ill give him major points if he fights Trout. I think if he does that and win, then he has earned a shot at Floyd. Canelo should fight Trout as co-main event to Floyd's fight and if they both win then they meet in September. Simple as that. Got Em!!

Why fight Trout when Canelo is pretty much guaranteed a Floyd fight after this? Golden Boy will feed him someone like Angulo and wont take such risks.

Which sucks because it does Canelo no good fighting guys like Angulo who is the opposite of floyd. It would serve Canelo well to get some experience against a guy like Trout to better prepare for Floyd.

Looking forward to Canelo vs. Floyd.

Canelo and Floyd both should make short work of their opponents in May though...
Depends on who Canelo fights? Also while I agree Floyd should do what he does and win unanimously, Guerrero aint no chump and he is a challenge. Dude been trying to fight Floyd for a minute. He is a beast for jumping two weight classes and handling his biz. I give dude credit so dont think he just gonna get dominated from start to finish. Got Em!!

By Ryan Maquiñana

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has finalized a deal to fight Robert
Guerrero on May 4 at the Las Vegas MGM Grand, sources with
knowledge of the negotiations informed CSNBayArea.com/BoxingScene.com Tuesday morning.

In a bit of an upset, Showtime will broadcast the pay-per-view
event, edging archrival HBO for the rights.

Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KOs), currently the WBC interim
welterweight titleholder, will take on the full-fledged WBC
champion Mayweather (43-0, 26 KOs) for the belt.

Unbeaten junior middleweight titleholders Saul “Canelo”
Alvarez (41-0, 30 KOs) of Mexico and Austin Trout (26-0, 14
KOs) of Las Cruces, N.M. will unify their belts in the co-feature.

LAS VEGAS - Undefeated eight-time world champion Floyd
"Money" Mayweather, boxing's pound-for-pound king and the
highest paid athlete in the world (Forbes, 2012), has entered
into a groundbreaking pay-per-view deal with Showtime
Networks Inc. and its parent company, CBS Corporation.
Under the new deal, SHOWTIME PPV® will collaborate with
CBS Corporation to comprehensively promote Mayweather's
events on the CBS Television Network and via the corporation's
expansive media platforms.

The deal-a unique revenue-sharing arrangement between
SHOWTIME PPV and Mayweather-will enable him to fight up to
six times over a period of 30 months, with the first mega-event
taking place on May 4, 2013, when Mayweather will fight
Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero. More details of this upcoming
event will be announced shortly.

Mayweather's new deal is by far the biggest in the sport of
boxing (specific financial details are contractually confidential).
Mayweather is the PPV king and averages over 1 million PPV
buys per event, which is the highest PPV buy average of any
boxer in history. At this record-setting PPV performance
level, if all six fights contemplated by this deal occur, it will be
the richest individual athlete deal in all of sports.
