LOL @ Prayers. If prayers worked every starving child would be eating and the world would be at peace.
That is flat out ridiculous to say......

Yea and if prayers worked everyone would be rich too right?

If everyone was ate steak and shrimp, lobster, had a couple million in the bank, lived in a 4 bedroom house on 10 acres, and didn't have to work the world would be a better place.........

Yes that makes a lot of sense.

The world would be a better place like that. And if there isn't enough resources on this planet to sustain every single person living like that then I pray to God to make the earth more sustainable. In God's Name I pray, AMEN.

^^ they would if God came and chopped it up with them once in a while, did some magic tricks and what not. I would make an awesome God. This christian God doesn't do anything right.

Not to derail your sarcasm haha, but I always find the thought that God created us and loves us and wants to hang out with us so laughable. The equivalent of that would be like a human being creating some sort of amoeba like creature and then loving that stupid little thing and wanting to spend eternity hanging out with it. Yeah ok.

That is not equivalent.

Because through pain and suffering we all act differently.

If my dad dies I might take it differently than if your dad died, or if I had any tragedy happen for that matter. Fact is we all are different. So I pray for their heart and mind to have peace etc, things that I believe God can help them with if they keep their faith. Hope, in general.

Just me.

I was more getting at that a lot of religious people tend to believe everything happens as part of God's will and that all things happen for reasons greater than its pieces. So if this happened by the will of God then he must have a reason for it to have happened right? Therefore why would these people need someones prayers and by doing so wouldn't that also being going against the will of God in a way?

Sorry for my bad english, but its time for a "Maximum Richness" like 2.000.000 Dollars/Euros whatever. Can´t be that some people got like Trillions of Dollars and every Day people gotta starve. Even if you guys don´t know we part of a greater beeing. We are responsible for each other.

Don't generalize religious people. They aren't all the same.

lol well no shit, read my first sentence. But I know a lot, which it seems like much more than do not, believe everything happens through God for a reason. Just a question I'm asking that I've been curious about what others opinions are, that's all. I actually thought you might have some light to shed on the question, I guess not though.

I personally think if someone wants to pray for their own comfort or the comfort of someone else then go for it. The thing I don't like is a good amount of people seem to pray for the wrong reasons or for things if they actually put some action behind the problem they could change it themselves, even if it's not easy.

I whole-hardheartedly agree with this statement.
