I heard back in the day the gook term started in the Korean war because the way Koreans actually say Korea is Hangook so the Murican soldiers started calling the Koreans gooks, then the dumbasses in the Vietnam war just kinda brought it with for some reason even though calling a Vietnamese person a gook is like calling a Colombian a wetback.
