Are you serious?

Back in the 1700s, it may have been possible to resist the government because the government had the same guns people had.

In the 21st century, you are 100% dead because the power balance has shifted so much in favor of the government.

Precisely because of the power imbalance, and because of the changes in both technology and society that have happened meanwhile, that argument (if it ever was valid) does not any more outweigh the negative consequences of everybody having guns.

Japan has 40% of the population of the US, it records about a dozen gun violence deaths a year, in the US several hundreds die every year just from guns firing accidentally. and about ten thousand in total...

It's hard to argue with that stastic.

Meanwhile, big business has bought the government and has quite successfully created a corporate police state. Somehow people having guns has not prevented that. Not only that, but it is the people who are most keen to have guns that have supported that transition...
Jesus, man....

half time the time when you post, I feel like I cant even talk to you because the way you word some of the shit you say makes me want to kick you in your face.

....then you post some shit like this that I totally agree on & I wanna shake your hand & pour you a cold beer so we can continue this conversation.

I dont get it.

Bringing the upper class down instead of bringing the lower class up to be on par with everybody else is what this adminstration has taken steps to accomplish! You don't see that? Kind of sounds like a good portion YOUR defenition if you ask me!
Also, this is a very strange thing to say from someone who I am 99% certain does not belong to the upper class.

You can not expect all people to fall into just two camps that agree (and correspondingly disagree) on everything

They won't do shit to tomahawk missiles, but those guns will pump holes in a pig at close range when he comes knocking on your door.
a pig wont be knockin on ur front door a marine team with tear gas tactical knowledge armed w a m4 reflex sight and night vision, level 3 body armor will be flashbanging ur house and bringing your screaming and crying ass out in 5 mins.

goddamn people are stupid.

And I'm sorry, your .40 glock or even K w the extended clip aint gonna do shit to the drone shooting a tomahawk missile at your house from 3 miles away. Guns aint even shit w the baddest military in the world, because the only people that are in fighting condition are those sick racist militia muthafuckas in the south who wanna secede from the states anyway.

The US had artillery that was overwhelmingly superior to the Viet Cong in the Vietnam War....

Our own soldiers will not kick down our doors for our guns. It happened in Katrina in NO but this is different. I am a veteran myself and still have plenty of friends in active duty and believe me,they will not stand for this crap. Only the retard, young soldiers might do this but MOST will stand down. Not only that, there are 4 millions veterans and I highly doubt they will just bend over. Snatching guns from our homes will definitely cause some sort of conflict, unless that's what THEY want. That's when I start making my tin foil hat LOL.

1. Just above your post, I wrote some very relevant to what you posted things

2. Learn the difference between communism and totalitarianism.

3. The nominally communist states themselves never claimed they were communist - the official position was that communism was being built but was yet to be achieved. This tells you how close they were to the ideal....
I think you and alot of this country need to learn more about communism and see that is the direction we are headed in. That aside, my points still apply. The government has the means to become more overbearing then ever before.

Lets be real, just like a poster already put, the governments only play is an "Assualt Weapon Ban," because it's the only thing our society would be prepared to accept! This was already put in place once and had (ZERO) effect on crime.

What a lot of people don't realize including yourself is OVERALL gun violence is down signifigantly from 20 years ago in this country. Guns have always been here and only recently have we seen a rise in "mass shootings." We need to stop using guns as a scapegoat for poor parenting, not instilling the proper values in our youth and not recognizing and treating the mentaly disabled.

Once assualt weapons are gone people will use pistols, (which are already more prevalent in gun crime.) Whenever pistols are gone it will be bombs, knifes any weapon people who want to harm others can get a hold of. I don't think people are seeing the bigger picture. Eliminating the weapon is not going to eliminate the problem!

Exactly.

Its funny because I think many of people arguing gun control might agree that the best way to fight "terrorism" would be to proactively stop terrorists before they become terrorists, rather than retroactively trying to prevent them from carrying out terrorists acts after they have become terrorists.

Almost slipped this one past me. You are correct, i am not part of the upper class and i don't claim to be! However that doesn't mean that i never want to be. The opportunities to be sucessful as a result of hard work are becoming few and far between in this country.

Alot of people who are part of the upper class have money for a reason. Hard work and dedication plays into that alot! So as a country are we to punish them because people who don't work feel like they are equally entitled to a piece of the pie?

I want my generation as well as future generations to be able to bring themselves up from lower class not vice versa because of jelousy over anothers success.

So it's the usual case of people supporting policies that go against their own self-interest only because they hope some day to be part of the small minority that uses those policies to oppress everyone else?

You're not getting it. I don't support policies that are against my own interest. I'm a hard worker and don't ask for handouts from others who put in hard work and effort to be successful.

This country has more "takers" then "producers" and it's becoming more and more evident each day!

I hope you remember that statement when years from now you become disabled due to "living the American way of life" and someone will have to "produce" for you to "take" so that you can remain alive

Yeah good luck finding an army big enough on earth to raid 88% of american homes and still live.

Besides, I bet most of you crazy fuckers have got tactical shit like bangs and claymores as well, you can thank call of duty for that one lol.

Man you're an idiot! I'm not talking about disabled people. I'm talking about lazy fucks who don't want to work because they're lazy pieces of shit. America is over run with them!
