I am considering to move to Thailand, also because of economic reasons.
If I have to be poor, why not in a country where people are more happy, there is good food and lots of sun.

The second amendment was meant for all Americans to be armed against the government. It was never really meant for hunting or even for home defense(other than against your own government). The founding father's of America wanted to make sure that if the government of America ever got too controlling or abused their power that the citizens of America would be armed so they could take back control of the country. That was the real point of Democracy that the people actually had the power.

Back in the 1700s, it may have been possible to resist the government because the government had the same guns people had.
In the 21st century, you are 100% dead because the power balance has shifted so much in favor of the government.
Precisely because of the power imbalance, and because of the changes in both technology and society that have happened meanwhile, that argument (if it ever was valid) does not any more outweigh the negative consequences of everybody having guns.
Japan has 40% of the population of the US, it records about a dozen gun violence deaths a year, in the US several hundreds die every year just from guns firing accidentally. and about ten thousand in total...
It's hard to argue with that stastic.
Meanwhile, big business has bought the government and has quite successfully created a corporate police state. Somehow people having guns has not prevented that. Not only that, but it is the people who are most keen to have guns that have supported that transition...

So our government doesn't have the power to become overbearing anymore? I'm sorry alot of people aren't going to like this statement but i do believe this administration is the closest thing we've ever had to communism. Obama is the most radical pesident who's ever been in office.
In my personal opinion our rights have never been in more danger and i'm not just talking about the second amendment. However when you think about it the second amendment is the only thing that really levels the playing field between us and the government. You're a fool to think that the federal government will always have your best intrests at heart from now until the end of time. Sounds like you're living in a fantasy world.
