These leaked. Most folks dont really dig Kreay's music, but i think its fair to at least listen to the artist making the most noise in the Bay at the moment, whether you want to admit it or not. Here are my thoughts on it after a few spins.
So far, the stand out tracks are Blase Blase, Ch00k Ch00k Tare, Breakfast, & Luv Haus.
I can tell you, i think "Gucci Gucci" really seems out of place here for one reason or another...not sure why. I really dont like "Like It or Love it" with Kid Cudi, but props to her for working with him. "Summertime" is still a terrible song. "Left Ey3" has a dope beat, but not feelin the content and the hook is pretty bad IMHO. "Bff" is just a weird song in general...its super pop-ish and reminds me of that "Friday" song kinda. However, im oddly drawn to it. "Luv Haus" is far and away the best song on here and i think she is at her best when she isn't actually rapping. I didn't like 2 Chainz on Breakfast at first, but his verse has grown on me and that song is probably the best all around song in terms of appeal on the whole album. Its on some Nikki Minaj shit and has the appeal for the radio heads. "Twerkin!!!" is kinda hot hearing her talk about strippers grinding on her...nothing wrong with a chick going both ways. The Ruler is not a good song in my eyes...not feelin it at all.
Overall, she is sort of a mash up of Missy Elliot, Nikki Minaj, with a tiny splash of MIA here and there. This album is really good in terms of directing the masses...it has a bit for everyone and is a smart way to introduce yourself to those outside of the West Coast. There is a few Bay-heavy themes in here that other regions may not get, but isn't every album kind of like that when you rep your city/region? However, she never leans on her Bay roots to sell a song...she just does her thing and she gets props from me on that.
All in all, i would have to say its a solid debut album teetering on very good. And she doesn't say nigga once...just for the record.
