Man, Alex Smith knows what it is.... A better player was available. This is a business. Alex cans sign with the Dolphins and play for 3rd in that conference every year or sign back with niners and play for a play off run... His choice. In reality, our kicker and our defense/special teams put in the position we were in. Any game managing QB can do the same with the niners.

Alex is welcomed back but I wont be pissed if he decides to go elsewhere....

Hell bring back the Dilf!!!!! Trent Dilfer on line 2.......

Eric Branch M @Mobbin Thru 925 _Branch Geoff Schwartz's agent said of his client: "He did grow up a 49er fan. So that probably is an advantage to you guys." #49ers

6'6 330 lbs not bad, wouldn't mind seeing him and kilgore compete for the right guard position.

Were gonna draft another O lineman this draft, do you guys think its warranted to draft a WR with one of our first 2-3 draft picks considering our FA pick ups or should we focus on CB's , and D n O line?

We still need to draft a receiver and hope he's a beast. Manningham deal is only 2 years, Moss 1, and Crabtree's contract is up after this season I think
Maybe in 2 seasons

We all know Alex isn't Peyton, Joe, or Drew.

I think he understands that, as well.

Can he get better? Absolutely. And SF is the best place for him to do that, and now that he's got some more weapons, and more familiarity of the offense (this goes for all of the players), I think we'll see improvements all around.

Alex will sign his contract, and will be back for the 49ers.

I also think that they will give Josh Johnson a look, at the very least, but I think if for whatever reason Alex doesn't return (doubtful IMO), they will look for a stop gap while Kaepernick is further groomed, and I think they have faith that he will be able to take this team over very soon.

I was bummed that Peyton chose the Broncos, but then again, I wondered how that move might affect our team chemistry, not to mention we don't know how well his neck will hold up. I highly doubt he was taking any blind side hits from 350lb men while he was throwing for prospective teams, so really his abilities after these surguries are still a big question mark.

Peyton didnt come to the 49ers, because of the "super bowl or bust" attitude, if your not super bowl or bust at age 36 coming of a potential career threatening injury? then when will you be?? why the fuck even play? that kinda lack of heart is why his little brother has more super bowl rings then him.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee ( D @Damu Tha Great barrows) is reporting the following on Twitter:

49ers are holding a pro day workout for 30 or so free agents. First of its kind for the team. Hope is to find a diamond in the rough ...
