To the person that started this thread.....Who is part of this 95% u said u could eat up.....I'm very curious to know cuz I listened to the songs on your Myspace page and u ain't no Jayo, X-Raided, Domination or Rich The Factor ur damn self.....Not tryin to diss u at all but thats just my opinion.

U also sound very confused about what direction u wanna take with ur art cuz u ask the people what do we want then go on to talk about what u ain't gonna rap about and what form of music ur sticking to.....If ur gonna do that then whats the point of asking ur original question?

Just my opinion

i feel that...
1) unfortunately my myspace is no sign of my bars... at all.. the music is outdated 2005 or so... (excluding Bust This ... recorded 3 months ago and early summer recorded last march)
i realize thats stupid.. but i honestly am to lazy to release new tuff on myspace for lacc of a record to promote... BUT
for the most part niggaz know my pedigree... (including jayo)...rappers/execs know i got a fierce tongue...but "just bustin" doesnt always translate into my songwriting...

2) i realize i was hella unclear... im not askin what type of rapper i should be... just askin what type of album do people wanna see in 2009... being that rappers have done so much and people are not amazed by it...
so before i stop and drop something this year
i wanna see if this is the right time to drop...

my storytellin album that i got with ecay

my westcoast party shit that i got with F Major

or some more familiar/reality shit that i got with focus, and other producers.

how about u just drop a ablum and let us judge it from there, i mean ur only as hot when ur puttin out albums, i mean u cant drop a album in 2009 and all we get is a couple of myspace slaps, mixtapes for free and the u drop a album in 2013, i'd rather have a rapper that drops thier type of music on a consistant basis than not really hearin from them for awhile...hope that made sense cuz i been drink a lil
naw... you make perfect sense... that applies to me 100%

and btw... i sent them traccs... but it came bacc as "invalid address" or some shit

Okay I feel u on that.....

I think every album should have its own unique concept......I also feel artist should focuse more on good production.....Bad production is he fastest way to get a listener to turn ur music off.

Networking with artist and building a fanbase from other regions around the West and not just So Cal would definitly help.....Mitch is notorious for going all over the West and networking......When I say the West niggaz need to go to places outside of Cali....Hit up Washington, Oregan, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and Neveda.........Those are major supporters of West Coast music but also places that are neglected when people talk about hi hop.

Mitch and C-Bo are very well known to be posted up in other niggaz hoods out of town and just being a regular nigga w/o a bunch of security....That has nothing to do with the music but it helps build a following and Hood love which is always a positive.

If u got some story telling shit like u said then push that shit......Thats definitley lacking in hip hop.

Most artist never ask the fans what they want.....They just record the album and make it as qaulity as they can and put it out.....Thats the formula u need to run with.

And theres nothing wrong with mixtapes.....I think the West Coast has fucked up the mixtape game to a extent cuz they be out here trying to push mixtapes like they are real albums with ads and release dates.....Mixtapes are for promotion and should be dropped w/o warning.....I say drop one about two months prior to the release date of ur album just to get the streets talking.

Just my opinion
That's real. Niggas be trying to sell mixtapes in the West, while other niggas in the south and east be giving them away to build their buzz and fanbase.

If I don't know you from the random rappers out there, why am I going to buy your mixtape? Maybe if your mixtape is straight, I'll buy your album (if it's done professionally), but I'd rather buy myself lunch tomorrow than buy your mixtape that may or may not be worth my money.

The other problem with the west in my opinion is niggas are too quick to rely on a formula. How many more "I'm harder than that nigga" tracks need to be made? I understand it's part of the culture, but damn, you ain't got nothing else to say? Do you need to make a track about how hard you are and how litte of a fuck you give? I should be able to pick that up in your voice, delivery and attitude.

The formula gets so old and tired that I can damn near guess what someone's album is going to be about.

1. Intro
2. My neighborhood is rough
3. I don't give a fuck
4. I'm hard
5. For the bitches
6. I smoke the dankest chronic
7. Party track
8. I'm the best hustler you've never heard of
9. I'm the best pimp you've never heard of
10. The hood is fucked up/I miss the homie
11. I'm doing it on a major level, but you've never heard of me
12. I'm bringing the west back
13. Outro

Not necessarily in that order, but that's damn near every album I hear now.

With so many niggas rapping these days (too many) why not find your niche audience and cater to their/your lifestyle instead of trying to please everybody? My music choice depends on the mood I'm in, so if I'm in a deep mood I'll put on that Distant Relatives. If I'm in a smoking mood, I'll put on something to get high to. But really I'm not trying to hear an album that's all over the map and not consistent with a vibe.

I want a well thought out album not just tracks thrown together. If I wanna hear random music I'll just hit shuffle on iTunes.
