Craziest thing. So I decided I was just going to upload the documentary since there were little to no resources available. I go to megaupload, select the video from my HD and start the upload - 10 seconds later it's finished. I figured there had to have been some kind of error but I verified through megavideo and by opening the link and it's legit. However the fuck I was able to upload 700mb in 10 seconds is beyond me. Maybe they matched the file name + certain data information and found an exact match already on their servers making it unnecessary to have a duplicate. Who knows?

Anyway.. here you go. Let me know what you think. Quality is so-so but it shoudln't be a problem.

I thought this shit was dope. It reminded me of all kinds of shit I'd forgot about when I'd been in basic (Army). If you've never been through basic training the shit may seem a little extreme, and I guess it was a little extreme, but there was something kind of fun about it as well.

I forgot about the constant chanting, it does make for a pretty surreal environment when there's always groups of people yelling shit out.

If you've ever been in the military, you should check this out.
I watched most of this, but didn't get to see the last 30 minutes of it. But it still brings back some memories. I remember counting down the weeks lol. It's a great look into basic training for military and non-military people.

One of my fav doc's is "Overnight", the story of Troy Duffy making/failing to make Boondock Saints. He's such a dick, it's amazing anybody bothered to work with him again.

I like the Beef series, Nerdcore Rising (about MC Frontalot), King of Kong, and anything Kevin Smith throws on his DVD extras like "Going Back to the Well" on the Clerks 2 dvd.

Edit: NOFX Backstage Passport that was on Fuse is a great doc/show if you watch them all in order. Even if you're not into the music you'll enjoy the nonsense that goes on while they try to tour sketchy foreign countries. Very interesting look at what it takes to tour outside the states and they don't shove the music down your throat too much if you're not into NOFX.

I thought this was a fairly good documentary. The story was crazy as all hell, and the people that live in that area all seemed like nut cases. Seeing that shit definitely made me glad I grew up in Southern California. Everyone in this film was so wacked out on drugs, Jesus, and poverty it looks like it would be a shitty place to grow up.

I'm not real sure what to think as far as if they did it or not. I sort of think that the last statement by the weird kid made me think he did it. Where he was talking about how his name was immortal now, and he'd become a ghost story that parents would tell their kids and shit.

As for the production quality and design decisions, I thought they could have done a better job. I know this was made a while back so you can't expect everything to be top quality. But I thought the use of that "Heavy Metal" font for the opening credits (same font as in the poster), and the Metallica soundtrack were poor choices. When the opening credits were going it was almost like the film makers were glamorizing the person(s) that killed and mutilated the three second-graders.

All in all, I thought it was a fairly good doc. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. It's a bit hard to watch due to the subject matter and just how fucking weird everyone from that town was. Plus I've never liked Metallica so the soundtrack only distracted me from the story.

Thanks for putting that online.

Right on, I'm glad you checked it out. I thought it was great but you're right, the production quality could have been much better. There is actually a sequel to it called Paradise Lost 2 Revelations:

Paradise Lost 2 is a brilliant suspenseful documentary with an unbelievable conclusion. The audience is invited to play in the guess work of who is actually telling the truth. The film makers let the evidence unfold in front of the viewer allowing them to draw what seems to be the inevitable conclusion and then throw a complete curve ball when the results of the polygraph test come back. An engrossing and astounding look at the American justice system.
This one had much better production but didn't fare quite as well with critics, though still very good imo (RT: 91% iMDB: 7.8). The only thing I don't like about it is John Mark Byers tends to ramble on about wierd shit for too long.

What is really fascinating is, after all these years, John Mark Byers (father of one of the slain boys) went on record saying he believes they are all innocent:

Also if you're interested check out the website dedicated to the accused: www.wm3.com. You might be surprised that after all this time they are still currently fighting for their freedom. I believe just last month a judge rejected a new trial and now they are going to the supreme court which will be their last chance. I would imagine that there is going to be a third documentary.

Just watched this yesterday and was thinking, "how are they gonna make a sequel to this?" A pretty interesting piece, the director made the story flow, and the animation that helped narrate the story was pretty decent.

I'm surprised that dude is even alive still. I guess the Madam still got love in her heart for old boy even tho he ratted her out.

Well he'd be a dead man twice over had he not fucked up the prosecutors case with their secretary.
She was facing a minimum of life with his testimony, but because of what he did, she only got 16 years w/ time served. Florida cant do anything right. :siccness:

one of my favs

ook, by playground surrounders, was a playground legand, known for his ability in leaping over cars and dunking at the same time. Incredible and unbelievable as it sounds, there is footage on the dvd of him performing this. But that was before, before Hook had run ins with the law which landed him incarcerated for a good part of his young life. This Dvd is not about basketball at all, its about life. If reflects the life of a playground legand who allowed "life" to get the best of him. This film is created and released during his incarceration and release from prison.

There are many superstar basketball players (Kidd, Gooden, Payton) that are featured on this film that comment on their experiences as young teens living in the same area where Hook created his legend. All agreed that Hook was better than them all. This film helps young teens see that it doesnt depend on athletic ability alone, it also deals with the activities you choose to engage and surround yourself in, during the process of your sports career.

heres a good one in a creepy scary kinda way.

Aokigahara Suicide Forest

The Aokigahara Forest is the most popular site for suicides in Japan. After the novel Kuroi Jukai was published, in which a young lover commits suicide in the forest, people started taking their own lives there at a rate of 50 to 100 deaths a year. The site holds so many bodies that the Yakuza pays homeless people to sneak into the forest and rob the corpses. The authorities sweep for bodies only on an annual basis, as the forest sits at the base of Mt. Fuji and is too dense to patrol more frequently.
