A few years back I bought what I thought was the first pressing og release of Fat Pat Ghetto Dreams. That is until I came across another one that looks like it may be the original. Maybe someone here can tell me which one is in fact the first pressing? I'm selling off all my duplicates so one of these gotta go! Here are scans of both the albums...

#1 (The version I just found that I beleive is the original.)

#2 (The version I bought a few years back.)

The paper work and the disc art

I can tell by the paper work and the disc. They're both seemingly the same, but when you've had the OG since back in the day and you've come up on the re-release in a used store, you can see that the 2nd disc's artwork image is a lot crispier looking and the insert/paper work has been scanned and re-printed on the re-release. It's just like X-Raided's album. The "X" in X Raided's name has be retouch/redesigned/updated in the re-release version and has a totally different look then the original pressing and the 1st Re-release. There are a total of 5 different version of his Psyco Active in my collection. I tend to keep all of the different variations of each CD; partly because I've ran out of things to collect and it helps me learn the differences. Heck even lyrics and music changes on some albums. That's why I knew which Mac Dre - Young Black Brother Blue Disc was the original. I study this stuff all of the time. When and if you get both version of this Fat Pat in your hands, you will see what I'm talking about. You can't recreate the cover artwork without disturbing something. The more you try make it more original-like, the more evidence is left for you to see the differ. Think about it. Crispy looking disc, but blurry/scanned looking inserts. Sometimes the inserts are so blurry on re-releases, because the manufacture either makes the image too dark or too light. Theres no way to do an exact match, unless the artist or his company kept the original picutures/images on a disc or CD-Rom disc. Even then it would still have to be pressed on the same printer with the same exact ink. The more you collect and the longer you collect, you'll know the difference at eye's glance, because your eyes and memory would have been trained to see the difference. I've been collecting since I was 10-ish. Hell I use to read everything on the inserts. Production, studios, features and all of that. Heck I still do. I don't claim to know everything, but I do know a lot. I've even learned a lot from other members on this site as well.

Here is the 3rd variation to that cd by the late Fat Pat, which I bought in a used store for 99 cents a few years ago and sold on ebay. The front insert has the added title at the bottom and the cd face is black instead of blue. Don't know the pressing code because I didn't scan that before I sold it.

I know this is old, but I gotta put in my 2 cents. I think the 2nd cd looks more legit to me actually. The blue artwork on the first cd appears to be shifted to the right. It's not even centered on the center ring. Plus, you can see slight wavyness in the playable part of the 1st cd (especially at the bottom). I've only seen such wavyness in rereleases. I've seen the version of the cd that 209 is talking about and I wish I had picked it up.

I have seen another version which I know is a wreckshop rerelease. On the back cover of the wreckshop rerelease, Track 8 is the same shade of blue as the other tracks (unlike in the 2 pics above).

Anyone else got anymore info on this. Cuase I've got 2 of these and I'm pretty sure they are like teh 2nd one pictured (I need to go home to be certain) and I got one of them very near 1998.

I was thinking about this thread some weeks ago when I was going through my CD stacks. Gotta find my fat pat CD and check that one.

Had to bump this one because I've just checked mine and it does not look like the first two ones pictured above. I bought mine hella years ago, but both inserts and disc are sharp -no blurry edges or poor pixelated scan details on the cover. The disc is blue but also the inner plastic ring is blue. The ring code on this one is FAT PAT/BLACK CAT PRODUCTIONS DOC-FAT PAT/BLACK KAT PRODUCTIONS *D01.
Which one in line is this? Anybody else got this one?
