My friend has a 8 MB internet connection at his apartment, and I remember downloading something that was 1.3 GB with the Internet Download Manger and it took 15 min. total, no joke. He pays $99 a month for cable and internet on Comcast.

What does that hafta do with this torrent site he's talking about?

There are several free torrent sites...Some are invite only, some aren't. To be honest I've gotten a ton of shit from piratebay and had no issues...That requires no membership

Nothing, just saying, he could get a faster connection, that's another option.

Me, personally, I use Rapidshare. 11 dollars a month, I can download from any website that hosts rapidshare links and I'm good. Don't gotta share back or anything. The uploaders benefit too, because Rapidshare gives out Premium points for each download, get enough and you can have another account.

So, everyone wins.

rapidshare is ok for some things. I agree it's worth a paid account

But for large shit like movies, I don't wanna download 40 different rapidshare links just to get it. Torrents are dope if you know the places to go and how they work. If you don't then you'll hate em

yes and fuck Comcast...They make my interweb experience a living hell

I use Internet Download Manager. So, all I have to do is highlight all the links I need, right click, and select "Download with IDM" on the context menu and it downloads all the links into the download manager.

I can download it now, later, a week, month, doesn't matter. Internet Download Manager has made shit a lot easier for me. If my computer crashes, IDM has resume capability so I don't have to start the download over from scratch.
