THE REASON WHY I PICKED THE MARVIN GAYE COVER IS BECAUSE OF THE STATE OF WEST COAST RAP...NIGGAS DONE WATERED THE WEST COAST DOWN SO MUCH WITH LOW RIDERS AND GANG BANG IMAGES. THIS ALBUM REPRESENTS WHAT I'M GOING THOUGH IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW. THIS COVER IS NOT ABOUT WHAT ANOTHER NIGGA WANTS IT TO BE AND WHEN IT DROPS, YOU'LL KNOW THAT IT'S A POLITICAL, CONSCIOUS, GANGSTA, EVERYDAY LIFE ,HARDCORE HIPHOP ALBUM... I MAKE MY MUSIC FOR THE WORLD, NOT JUST FOR CALIFORNIA NIGGAS TO BUY. THIS RECORD REPRESENTS THE MANHOOD OF CRICET AND THE ELEVATION. I CAN CARE LESS ABOUT COVER VOTES. WHEN YOU MAKE RECORDS, YOU MAKE THEM TO SATISFY YOURSELF THEN THE PEOPLE... PUT IT THIS WAY... I WON'T DISAPPOINT YOU LIKE OTHER SOUTHEAST RECORDS. THIS IS THE BEST OF THE BEST. MERCY: THE DOUBLE ALBUM!

why make a thread with a poll to ask what people think of the cover and then say you dont care what they think of the cover a few posts later?

uh...yeah....

but hey, on the bright side...Cricet actually responded!

i mean we shouldnt give a fuck about how cricet wants to make his cover thats like tellin dude how to make his songs

if the album woulda dropped like that i wouldnt have gotten mad maybe the cover would have spoke for itself when we heard the music

beyond the marvin gaye cover thats how i picture cricets mind frame, cloudy rainy days in san diego, a rarity but it does happen, some of the songs i hear from him have that dark depressing nature about it and i thought it was reflective of him thinking about some shit in the rain

lol at count chocula.

It's about time someone is trying to expand outta Dago. Most local artists wanna satisfy the city instead of the whole freaking world. Good luck Cricet. Hope that shit sells a mil.

on the otherside..trying to please anyone is whats partially hurting todays music...too many artists making music for the masses, too much shit sounding the same.I feel for an artist to make a legendary album his ears have to be turned off to what anyone else is doing (on the business side its another story) it is then that the artist gives the consumers 100% of them and who they are...wich is unique....so if you from dago I would think that your surroundings/upbringing would play a big part as your influences....the music you listened to growing up what moms and pops played on the stereo.Whats a shame is when artists tell us ..this style or that style is played out...like WC gangsta rap.I see many posts..and hear from many people how they wanna hear more of it...but the artists saying its played....how you gonna tell me what i wanna listen to?The reason why artists like CRICET...MITCHY...BIG JUNE...have a following is from that...and thats what their true fans wanna hear..not to say you cant do something different....just dont switch up the whole formula..unless thats you...when you start becoming a carbon copy..you stop becoming relevant...you bring nothing special to the table...

that's true too. i guess it goes both ways. www.myspace.com/10fingerattack . i'm trying to make alot of different sounding music. not for the masses , but for me. and i hope the masses will enjoy it. and i really don't believe that styles fade , they just need to be constant so it's not forgotten. all good points though 50cal.
