Oakland rapper Philthy Rich is a slick-talking emcee with a tireless work ethic and a bottomless Rolodex. Today, Rich recruits G Herbo (formerly Lil Herb), drill rap’s premier lyricist, for “59 To 79,” a hard-hitting, piano-driven banger. Featuring over three and a half minutes of hook-free bars, “59 To 79” finds the two rappers blazing a new connection between Oakland and the South Side of Chicago, bonding over their shared predilection for sipping cough syrup and the dangerous neighborhoods they call home. Premiered today by XXL, “59 To 79” is the latest single from Philthy Rich’s upcoming Hood Rich 4 mixtape, following the the Zaytoven-produced cut “Numbers” and the remix to “Broke Boy,” which features a long guest list of buzzing artists. With guest appearances from Skeme, Shy Glizzy and Soulja Boy and production by the likes of Zaytoven and Shawty Fresh, Hood Rich 4 releases in August 2016.
