After being involved with two incidents last September where the 34-year-old rapper pulled a gun and threatened police, Gucci was charged in federal court on two counts of possessing a firearm and could face up to 20 years if convicted.
Lawyers for the U.S. government and Gucci Mane are now asking that his April 15 court date be pushed back so that they could work on a plea deal, RadarOnline reports. This potential new deal could include less time behind bars for the Atlanta native.
Official documents reportedly read, “The parties believe they may have resolved this matter subject to certain approvals including a meeting with the Court. However, due to various schedule conflicts, counsel have been unable to finalize the matter and given defense counsels respective absence from the jurisdiction over the next week, will be unable to finalize the matter prior to the trial date.”
