Las Vegas police have arrested someone in connection with the 1996 shooting of Tupac Shakur.
Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis was taken into custody on Friday morning, though the exact charges remain unclear. Davis has spoken openly about being at the scene of the drive-by shooting 27 years ago.
Metro Police investigators made ‘long and careful considerations’ over moving forward on the case, saying that they ‘did not enter into the investigation lightly.’
The arrest comes more than two months after Las Vegas police raided his wife’s home July 17 in neighboring Henderson. Documents said police were looking for items “concerning the murder of Tupac Shakur.”
Police reported collecting multiple computers, a cellphone and hard drive, a Vibe magazine that featured Shakur, several .40-caliber bullets, two “tubs containing photographs” and a copy of Davis’ memoir.
