During this burgeoning era, Ant Diddley Dog worked frequently with renowned multi-platinum producer Ant Banks, appearing on projects featuring Too Short, Ice Cube, Spice 1, 2Pac, E-40, Ginuwine, and MC Breed among others. However, the tragic death of his partner and friend, Rappin’ Ron, changed everything for Anthony. This tragic event initiated a journey which led him in search of a higher purpose for his life, and ultimately steered him to use his incredible talent as a rapper for the cause of Jesus Christ. Now known as A. Doulos, which means “a servant”, this former Too Short protégé and Cell Block Records artist is prepping the release of his first production since “Face To Face” off 1998’s Cell Block Compilation.
A. Doulos, is set to drop “The New Ant Diddley” Mixtape on May 15, 2013, and he is also working on his debut album, which will include the song “Send Me” featuring former American Idol finalist, and Oakland native, LaToya London. Both are projects for his independent label Kerusso Music.
The first release from “The New Ant Diddley” mixtape is a song called “Same Mind”, and for fans of Ant Diddley Dog, the same lyrical dexterity that set him apart from his contemporaries is still fully intact and on display. With a seemingly endless well of creativity, he has a refreshing command of the microphone and the future looks bright for A. Doulos.
