Over 15 years ago, the world lost a unique individual in the tragic passing of Ol’ Dirty Bastard. As one of the members of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, ODB was known for moving to the tune of his own drum and his son has forged his own lane with that same spirit of being uncommon in a cookie-cutter world. Bar-Sun Unique Jones, also known as “Young Dirty Bastard”, has kept up the memory of his father just by being authentic. The Brooklyn rapper has been on tour with Wu-Tang clan in the past and steadily has created his own legacy in the game. Chopping it up with AllHipHop, YDB shared his thoughts on the portrayal of his father on the Hulu biopic series, “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” stating that series and actor T.J. Atoms didn’t fully show the complete man Ol’ dirty was. “We never spent no days to keep it real with you … he asked to chill but that was it”, he states after clarifying that Atoms never truly reached out to him for insight on the role. “First of all, that’s my family position if anything we’re supposed to pick who we wanted to play the role, that was orchestrated from a higher level… it was orchestrated behind doors and it just happened the wrong way.” Moving along, Young Dirty shared the misconceptions about his father, insights about his life, and what his plans are for his music career.
