Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, but well known in California, West Coast rapper Yowda is enjoying the success of a strong showing in 2012 as he preps to build even more in 2013. Fresh off the release of singles with YG, 2 Chainz and others, Yowda is making his mark on the “Left Coast” like no other rapper ever from Las Vegas. Having been signed to an independent label in the Bay Area early on in his career, Yowda was ready to hang things up just a few years ago, but after taking two years off, he was encouraged by business partner Nader Nevada to rap again.
The move has paid off, as recently Yowda spent a weekend recording with Maybach Music Group ringleader, Rick Ross. The two have developed an uncanny chemistry and have music that should be hitting the net in the coming weeks
“I’m just in reality rap, you know I get in the booth and talk about what I do or what I been through,” Yowda said when asked about his style and lane in rap music. “A lot of people try to label me ‘West-Coast-Trap Music,’ because I do a lot of hard or heavy beats and and I got a West-Coast flow, but you know it is what it is, its just good music”
To date Yowda’s BLKDMNDS directed video for the DJ Mustard produced track “Shut Up,” ft. Compton, California’s Y.G., has amassed nearly 300,000 legitimate views and has caught the attention of radio stations and clubs in several markets in Las Vegas, Oakland, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
