Off Topic: Would The Strange Fam Watch...

Would any of you guys watch vids of me doing game/movie reviews kind of in the style of AVGN (http://www.youtube.com/user/jamesnintendonerd?blend=1&ob=4) or TGWTG (thatguywiththeglasses.com)??

It would be more towards the That Guy side, where there wouldn't be a ton of production, more me just ranting about a game/movie with a few video edits to include audio/video of whatever I'm reviewing. There would be a loose script, so the whole thing would be rehearsed and re-shot if I thought it came off as a Youtube fat kid ranting about nothing while sneezing and farting and yelling at his mother.

I would rate new movies and games, with an occasional review of older shit... Shit I watched as a kid, shit I saw on Netfriex, shit other people said they loved that I think is trash, etc. I'd probably do a review of wrestling shows once in a while, as I'm a huge fan.

One thing I wanted to incorporate that AVGN, Spoony, and TGWTG haven't done is music reviews. I'd pretty much take notes on an album and talk shit or praise the lyrics/beats. Then if I made a vid I'd incorporate the music into the review with lyrics typed up, so you knew exactly the lines I was talking about. I think this can be a bit funnier and more interesting that it sounds, with the right production.

I wouldn't call them "characters" but one or two friends of mine would be really good to help. One friend that I'm thinking of having on the reviews is the same dude that introduced me to Rehab, SPM, and Cham from when he spent some time in New Mexico. He's the guy who bought AP and sparked off the Tech N9ne virus in NY. So my point is, he kinda knows what's good/bad (at least IMO) and would be a great addition to music reviews. BTW, he probably like Royce and a lot of shit I'm just not into, so he'd be a good balance to a review.

The other friend is what I consider a huge dork. When you send the dude a text, FF7 music plays as an alert. He's into WOW, can kill anyone at Marvel vs. Capcom with ease, and knows a ton about pc gaming. He'd be a real good guy to round out the "team". He'd be like Egon to my Venkman.

If you get that reference, you should have already voted "yes".

Of course I'd have siccness friends on as well, so long as they're funny or entertaining in some way... (This could mean you)

Anyhow, just vote and BE HONEST. I know a lot of people who vote "no" would most likely watch, just so they can comment and call me a dick, so...

I'm sure it's a lot of hard work. Those other guys put a lot of effort into their vids... I'm not trying to compete but if the feedback is good I'll give it a whirl.

I guess I'd start with Vengeance, or Life of Lucky Cucumber just to keep it close to home.

^^ They'd be more entertaining that just "This movie is a thumbs up/down"... It would be more like "This movie is wack as fuckin' fuck" and I'd be drunk 98% of the time.

I was also thinking of doing a "does it work" type of thing... kinda like Mythbusters, only... I'd take a movie scene with outrageous dialogue and see if it works in the real world.

In Trailer Park Boys: The Movie, Ricky pulls up to a drive-thru and says he had a big order for a family picnic that the window guy fucked up. I tried to find the vid but failed. Anyhow he pulls up and gets free shit for his daughter... 7 Orange sodas, onion rings, etc.

So... I'd do that and see what the fuck happens. In the end it'll be funny because it'll never work. I'll also (in reference to TPB) try and wack freestyle in a trailer park and see if I can get an audience. I definitely want to find a J-Roc scenario.

The type of shit I'm talking about would take longer than just "yeah, post up a vid". Plus the idea was basically to see if people would be interested. I wasn't asking with a few videos already up my sleeve in case people said yes, if that's how it came off.

I actually appreciate everyone's enthusiasm about it, so when I can figure out how to make it the quality that I think it deserves, I'll get right down to it. I also still need to talk to a few friends and see what they think about it. I was mostly just trying to get a feel for how the idea flew with a few people.
