If u watch the scribble jam competitions, u can tell they freestyle. Alot of them are wack as fuck but its cool to watch cuz u know they're spittin off the top.

thats just me though. I like to listen to freestyles when u can tell its off the top. I understand the written filler in's and all that shit just to make it sound tight. Why would an MC tryin to get platinum status try to spit off the top live on a radio show. A written freestyle is a great idea, just so all them record owner and producers can say,wow! it sounded like something off a fuckin song. A rather spectacular freestyler he is. Splendid!

Some mcs just got it like that. In my opinion if it's written it's not a freestyle it's a written rap.

yeah Murs is raw....I remember when he used to stay in the bay and living legends was just coming up I'd always catch him on telegraph or outside of venues either just freestyling or battling....

Black Thought has got to be one of the best and underrated freestylers out there....the way that foo just picks up off whatever is playing is amazing

same with common, jae millz, supernat, damn near all of hiero, kurupt, alkaholiks, juice, charli 2na, pharoah monche....they're all raw off the top
