The Wrestling Observer reports that Kurt Angle's name has been a subject of conversation for WWE's creative team.
According to the story, some are internally contemplating the idea of extending an offer to Angle when his TNA contract expires next year. Shane McMahon and Michael Hayes have reportedly been pitching return ideas for Angle.
Nonetheless, there is a school of thought in WWE regarding the consequences of hiring Angle, given the events that led to his departure a few years ago. He would also be unable to work a full schedule (given his age and injury history), with the Shawn Michaels plan of working the television and pay-per-view events but only a handful of house show gigs serving as the most optimistic scenario.
