HUNTINGTON BEACH -- A Garden Grove woman says she tripped and fell on a sidewalk near an Orange County elementary school. Now, she's suing for $100,000, a motorized scooter and a maid.
Bonnie Jennings, 59, says the city of Huntington Beach is responsible for the fall and she wants them to pay up. It happened at Goldenview Elementary School on December 18, 2009, according to Jennings.
She says she was walking near the school with her granddaughter when she tripped and fell on a raised portion of a sidewalk. She says she tried to break the fall with her arm and immediately began to feel pain.
Jennings says she lost sleep because of her injuries, was unable to do housework and wasn't able to have "relations" with her husband.
She says her pain continues to increase, according to the claim.
Jennings is suing for $100,000, wants someone to do "custodial work at her house," and wants to be paid for her pain medication and physical therapy.
Jennings wrote she can no longer carry on as usual and everyday chores cause her pain including doing dishes and laundry, walking, sleeping, getting dressed and picking up items.
City officials said the allegations are under investigation.
