Judging from the specs of this amp, This is a 4 channel amp. Unbridged i wouldn't even try to use this thing at all since its a 4 channel amp and I really advise against using 4 channel amps to power subs. If you do have to I would recommend bridgeing the amp that way would get 300w x 2 per channel into 4ohms. You said your subs are 400w peak? what are they RMS? I would assume 300 watt RMS bridged at the amp would be fine but you want to make sure you are not over powering them. If it was me this is what I would do if i Absolutely had to deal with this amp, otherwise I would definitely go with a mono block amp.

RMS Power (at 14.4V, 20Hz-20kHz)
Per channel into 4 ohms: 100W x 4 (1% THD)
Per channel into 2 ohms: 150W x 4
Brigded 4 ohms: 300W x 2

I wouldn't get the m500 because it is only stable at 2ohms. Since you have 2 subs with two 4 ohm voice coils you can wire the subs at either 1ohm or 4ohms. I had one of those older type R's and they are 300W each so you need to find an amp that is 600W RMS @ 1 ohm or at 4 ohms. It is going to be a lot harder to find one with that much power at 4 ohms.
