Also, ballzy playing Miranda.

No one really knows too much about Ward, other than he is an olympian and has fought a bunch of butters. Now he, his promoters, etc. dont feel like he should be fighting nobodies anymore so they are throwing him in with Miranda. Let's do it in his hometown to add a little insurance.

Miranda has been in with the best, he's just never really beat the best. Now he is up at 168 where he feels a lot more comfortable and has more power (is what he says).

I dont really care for either fighter, and 330 is too much to lay on an untested Ward against a pucher like Miranda.

What I do like is the O/U 9.5
I think this one is going the distance. Miranda can't KO anyone who doesn't trade with him. The guy doenst necessarily have the best accuracy in the game. I dont see Ward KO'ing Miranada without the help of the ref.

So, I think this one is going the distance. If anything does happen it will be right around the 9.5 mark. 8.5 at the very earliest. All of Miranda's KO's have come early. So if Ward can weather the early storm, we are looking at a decision. Ward to KO Miranda? Ya, I wouldn't count on it.

I believe Ward will win. His promoters wouldnt put his unblemished record on the line if they didnt think so. It's going to be an exciting one. Hopefully for my sake, not too exciting...haha

I'm on the Over 9.5
2.5 For 2.5

My book has it as Ward -330 and Miranda +280

Ward opened up at -280 (Miranda +230) but money has been pounding Ward all week...

The O/U is 9.5
Over at Even
Under at -130
Yep, I made the mistake of doing part of my betting early, I actually thought the smart money would come in late on Miranda.

Still, I got no worse that +200 on all my straight bets, average at about +2.50. For my Miranda by KO bet, I got 14/4 I think.

Good luck to you.

Yeah, I think Miranda was having trouble making 160 in both the Pavlik loss and the 2nd Abraham fight. I thought he beat Abraham the first time.

Anyway, Ward might indeed be a better fighter than Miranda, but he'll have to go thru a guy who's twice as good as anyone Ward's fought so far. I think they're making a mistake putting Ward in with Miranda without having ever been tested up unitl this point.

Hell, I woulda put him in with Lacy before fucking with Miranda, but we'll see.

Damn, the Showtime website says 9PM ET/PT for the fight, doesn't that mean it should be on the east -coast Showtime right now? It's not though, looks like I'll have to wait for the delayed broadcast at 9pm, fuck.

I just looked for a stream of it but couldn't find shit.

was not even that entertaining of a fight. Pretty much total domination on Wards part. I dont know if its the skills of Ward or just the lack of punches thrown by Miranda. Miranda is a good name but i dont even think its that big of a win considering how wack Miranda fought

i went to the fight. the under cards were better than the main event. i left after the ward fight. really wasnt interested in staying for the last two.actually the 1st fight was the best. the 2nd fight, dude from cincy got jobbed. the 6:00 p.m. bout was an inside job or dude has no heart at all. ward looked pretty good. he just lacks power, but he can box with the best. good win.

I still dont know if he can "box" with the best. Its easy to fight someone that continuously comes forward and is only throwing 1 punch at a time. I want to see him fight someone that can trade punches with him

Suspicious Substance Found in Miranda's Corner
By Mark Vester

In what is turning out to be a big story from Saturday's fight, the California State Athletic Commission confiscated a suspicious substance from the corner of Edison Miranda during his decision loss to Andre Ward at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.

According to trainer Virgil Hunter, the substance was in a brown bottle resembling a Vaseline tub and was apparently hidden in a bag in Miranda's corner. Ward's promoter, Dan Goossen, said Miranda's cornermen were spotted taking the substance out of the bag around the fourth or fifth rounds of the fight, it was seized before officials actually saw it given to Miranda.

Goossen said the athletic commission will test the substance and we may have results by this week.

"I don't want to jump to any conclusions right now," Goossen said. "That's why I didn't say anything [on Saturday]. There's nothing worse than taking away from a good victory by putting the focus on something else

Ive have never seen a fighter with his hand cocked ready to punch in such a obviously way for a whole fight. He was loading up his right hand all night....

On the other hand the bar scene after the fight was off the hook
