Willie D was arrested by the FBI last week at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental airport on charges of international wire fraud. It sounded bizarre to begin with, and now, more details are emerging on the case. For the sake of Southern Hip Hop we here at OZONE hope this is all some kind of huge misunderstanding but um… it doesn’t sound good.

Allegedly, here are the accusations: he formed a company (Texas One Wireless) and built up a good seller rating by selling individual iPhones on eBay. Then he began offering discounts on bulk purchases to international buyers, corresponding with them using an alias, and conducting the transactions through a separate website (outside of eBay’s guidelines). These international buyers wired him sums in the thousands, totalling over $65,000, but none of them ever received their purchases. They were sent a USPS tracking number but in reality the packages were never sent. Crazy stuff.

The homie Matt Sonzala over at austinsurreal.com has a few interesting links:

This is the site where he was allegedly directing folks to after luring them on ebay
^ seriously though, would you wire thousands of dollars to another country to the operator of this amateur-looking website?

Fraudwatchers.org thread about Texas Wireless
^ this thread provides a lot of insight into the situation

A lot more info on the Examiner site than in any other place I have seen

And here is a statement from the DA
