I don't really think that the west coast has a VERY big influence but it has a little. Like when I'm in another part of the country and say "Hella", cats look at me like "what did you say?!" But if I did hear someone using west coast slanguage, I'd think it was tight that not just us used it, and it would give me the impression that the west coast WAS being a influence, and thats a very good thing.

ay real talk, that "HELLA" is straight up bay area shit. i feel you on people asking u what the fuck u said when u out of state! even that one girl from no doubt learned that word from the bay and made a song about it.

That "hella" got people trippin. I went to NY last summer and went to the Lyricist Lounge concert and im up in there wid the cuzin saying "hella this, hella that" and my homegirl from NY is lookin at me like "Son, you in NY, you dont say 'hella' ". lol..thats shits funny tho.
