Massive news for long-time Nintendo fans has just reached us, courtesy of the latest issue of UK Magazine NGamer - Punch Out!!! has been confirmed for the Nintendo Wii and will feature Balance Board support.

The publication writes that the revival of one of the best-loved boxing simulators ever will be featured at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles next week, and will utlise Balance Board support for dodging and weaving during bouts, while the Wii Remote and Nunchuck will be used to throw punches:

"...And if all goes to plan (and our sources haven't played a mean trick on us), that hands-on coverage will be of Animal Crossing and Punch-Out!! Wii, aka Nintendo's great hopes for 2008."

That's all we know so far, but we'll bring you much more on Punch-Out!! Wii as soon as we get it

I played Mike Tyson's Punch-Out so much that I still remember the codes:

Don Flamenco- 005-737-5423
2nd Piston Honda- 777-807-3454
Mike Tyson- 007-373-5963
Super Macho Man- 076-995-6683 (I never knew about this one when I originally had the game as a kid until I bought a replacement copy about 5 years ago and there was a sticker on the game with this code)

no im pretty sure this is going to be a new punch out.

this isnt going to be the 8 bit nintendo version, this is going to be revamped for the wii graphically and control wise. why else would nintendo tout it as nintendos great hope for 2008? for a 5 dollar reissue of an old school nintendo game? i doubt it.

Yeah when i read the artical i assumed they were talkin bout a up-to-date Punchout!! or a tottaly revamped one or w/e.. lol i dont see a 8bit game on the VC as Nintendos Great Hope of 08.

I played punchout the other day and the last guy was some faggot named "Mr. Dream".

I thought mr. sandman or macho man was the last guy in the regular punchout on nes.

is it?

So you need to buy the wii fit board to play this game? That is horse crap. That means to play the game, you are going to have to shell out like 150 bucks.

I dont think you HAVE to buy the board to dodge attacks and shit.. I think if you do get the board tho u can use it for dodgeing and crap.. That would be hella gay if they ACTUALLY do make you purchase the WII-board tho.
