"The workbook you opened contains automatic links to information in another workbook. Do you want to update this workbook with changes to the other workbook? Yes no...

i just want this workbook to forget it was linked TO ANYTHING WHATSOEVER so it doesn't give me that error anymore how do i do that?

you have a formula in a cell that is linking to another workbook.

Easiest way is just to say no to the message! But if you want to fix, see below.

find the cell and perform the following:

1. copy whats in that cell
2. then right click your mouse and click "paste-special"
3. then pick "values"

the link should be gone

if you keep getting the error, then you have more than one cell that is linked to another spreadsheet

I was gonna say just get the workbook really drunk. It'll forget eventually.

But I guess you could just do what big D said. :classic:
