A few homies and I were conversing about this subject the other day, so I pose the question to you - when is it time to hang up your mic, or should you represent hiphop music as long as you have something to say? Should an artist bow out once he has achieved a certain level of success? A lot of artists talk about retiring, but only do it to hold out because they want their label to up their earnings or for media attention. Thinking about it, I can't think of too many folks who have actually "retired" from the musical aspect of Hiphop - Mase comes to mind..the others careers tend to fizzle away because they were just a trend, or cannot put out an album as near of quality as their debut..what's your opinion on the subject?
