Your operating system does not determine your head room. Your EQUIPMENT determines the amount of headroom you have, and I assumed you meant audio/sonic headroom. If you are referring to headroom as in 32 and 64 bit applications and teh processing required to run the apps you may have some ground (but this has NOTHING to do with audio.)

So are you talking about SONIC/AUDIO headroom or IMPROVED computer performance/computations?

Ive read some interesting results with audio apps on the stability and the overall headroom.
You may get some apps to run, but you will probably end up with a gang of driver issues. There may be a few pre-configured drivers for the setup , but your expansion possibilites depend on waiting for someone to come up with a driver for the latest hardware or newest plug in. I'm talkin about Windows on a Mac. if you boot from the OS/x you will see no difference.
