Freddie Roach, the trainer of Manny Pacquiao, has little interest in matching his fighter against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Over the last few years, Pacquiao has built a reputation for being one of the most exciting fighters in the sport. If Pacquiao beats Ricky Hatton on May 2 in Las Vegas, Roach would rather go with another fight. He feels Mayweather is a boring fighter.

"I didn't want to fight Mayweather next because he's a boring fight. We need the best fighters fighting each other because of other sports competing with us," Roach told PA Sport.

The most logical fight, if Mayweather decides to unretire, is a fight with Pacquiao. There is a growing demand for the two fighters to meet in the ring and settle the issue on which of the two is the real pound-for-pound king of the sport. Roach feels the clash of styles would make for an ugly fight.

"If we win I don't have a lot of interest in fighting Mayweather. Even if you beat him you look bad doing it. Mayweather is very skilled. I don't like his style - he's a runner but is a great boxer," Roach said.

Pacquiao Says Marquez Trilogy Will Settle Their Dispute
By Mark Vester

Manny Pacquiao wants to fight Juan Manuel Marquez for a third time to settle the dispute on which of them is the better fighter and deserves the title of "pound-for-pound" king. While Pacquiao has been moving up in weight and winning titles, Marquez has been building his own path by moving up and taking tough fights to win titles. In the last year, Marquez knocked out Joel Casamayor and Juan Diaz, two of the top lightweights and neither had been previously stopped.

Pacquiao did not watch last Saturday's war between Marquez and Diaz, but he knows the public demand for a trilogy bout is building. The two fought to a draw back in 2004 and Pacquiao won close split decision in their 2008 rematch. Both fights had a lot of action. Pacquiao says a third meeting would be the best of the bunch.

“I did not see the fight but I heard that Marquez won the fight and if he wants to fight somebody, anybody, I wish that we will meet again. I think there would be more action in the ring after our two battles and we need to put into the minds of people that there is a winner,” Pacquiao told Setanta Sports.

I really don't give a shit about Mayweather at this point, I did but then it all fizzled out when he started his usual jaw jacking, just like that dumb ass father of his.

^^besides, the timing isn't right just yet. Think about how huge it was when sugar ray leonard who was retired for 3 years came out of retirement and fought middleweight king marvin hagler. Shit, I think that's what basically started pay per view, or at least was the first really big boxing PPV.

You are so right about that, if he had a 3 year layoff and came back it would be the biggest deal like Jordan coming back or some shit but i dont believe Mayweather will come out of retirement till he actually does cuz ya there a good opponent for him to fight but an undefeated fighter like him does not have much motivation except dollars and that is most likely why he makes such ridiculous offers
