This info just came out yesterday morning and it's already the talk of everyone. A lot of people were saying it's a sequel, because of the teaser trailer. I personally was still hoping for a prequel. Seeing as how the story ended, it seemed possible for it to be a prequel rather than a sequel; but there's finally some solid information about that too.

Enjoy.

"Confirmed title is Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams. The trailer shows a grown up little sister holding a big daddy plush toy, while buildings in the form of Rapture rise from the sand. It's set on the Atlantic Coast."

"Bioshock may be officially out on PlayStation 3 tomorrow, but it seems some people have picked up the game already, and have even finished it. As a reward for finishing the game it seems these people have got access to the very first Bioshock 2 trailer, which now boasts the name Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams.

Is the news true, or is it just some clever photoshopping? Well, we don’t really know, but the PS3 port of the game was handled 2K Marin, so it is likely the developers could have chose to show a trailer of Bioshock 2 at the end of the game, seeing they are fully in charge of that games development."

"BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams is part of a prequel and at the same time is a sequel, so you’re kind of close on the interpretation of the trailer. The rising replica of Rapture can represent something to do with this or something part of a bigger surprise that everyone has to wait and see to play."

I got the first one at launch and beat it. Stellar game...very immersive and atmospheric. I beat it again, a little more than a year later, for the second time recently. It was just as awesome as it was the first time.

I'm definitely interested in the pre/sequel, but one thing that I've heard is that Ken Levine is only playing a very small role in the development of it. He was like the lead designer or lead writer or something. I hope that his lack of presence doesn't hurt the second one.
