I got a old computer that hasn't been updated, a Rode-Nt1 mic, cheap soundcard, and a cheap 60$ Behringer 602-A Mixer. The quality basically comes from my mic and the way I mix. Once I dump more money into my setup my quality should be allot better!

If you got the money, start off with something small that can be added on to later on. I suggest you go the computer-based way, rather than a digital-recorder, if you need help with equipment, PM me with your budget and info.
