I do find it strange that the United States justifies our actions in Iraq Vietnam and plenty others, with the Truman Doctrine or the attempt of spreading democracy, but Cuba were like fuck no. Its also been over 40 years.... lets try something new, this course obviously has not incited change.

It is ineffective if you believe the stated goal of the embargo.

It punishes and inhibits the freedoms of the people of both countries.

I agree on both counts.

However, shouldn't any nation have the freedom of choice to decide with whom they want to do business, just like we as individuals should have the choice to decide with whom we want to do business?

Yes and the embargo prevents all of those(countries, businesses, and individuals) from doing business with whom ever they want.

why not let businesses decide who they should do business with. Also US farmers are one industry that are pushing to lift the embargo they estimate close to a billion in sales if its lifted.
