That's pretty ridiculous. Golovkin can only fight who is available to him, been saying that. It's not his fault the division isn't full of Marvin Haglers. Same boat Rigondeaux is in - he doesn't want to move up in weight so he's stuck with what there is in his division. GGG and Rigondeaux are grown ass men, it's not like there 21 years old and still growing.

Imagine if Hopkins moved up in weight half way through his historic middleweight run because he couldn't get any big names or unification bouts? That's what some people were saying he should do. Don King had two title holders, three at one point, and wouldn't let them near B-hop. But he stayed patient, beating all the top ten guys for YEARS and eventually at the age of 36 got his shot against Trinidad. Ended up with 20 title defenses. Well, Golovkin is at 14 title defenses (we can argue the legitimacy of one of those belts but title defenses are title defenses), he's cleaning out the division consistently knocking out top ten guys while waiting for the big names and other title holders, just like Hopkins. I'm sure Canelo will be his Trinidad.

By beating Cotto he would be the lineal champ at MW and that would be enough and time to move on. Got Em!!
It could. There would still be two other belts out there. It would be ideal to be lineal and unify at least 3 out of the 4 belts.

Besides, we all know Cotto isn't going to fight him. So the best we can hope for is Canelo vs Cotto, Golovkin vs Andy Lee (for Lee's title), Canelo beats Cotto and then fights GGG for all the marbles! (the last remaining belt would be whoever the David Lemieux vs N'dam winner).

I think that's the best, realistic scenario for Golovkin. After that move up if he wants and fight Ward. Really no one else at 168 either since Froch is going to retire (he'll have one more fight not against GGG, his promoter and Froch both already said they won't fight GGG). Dirrell, DeGale, Groves, eh...not that enticing. Ward fight will be dope though end of 2016 or early 2017. There are also some up and comers from 154, 160 and 168 that could be names by then too

WBC coming through with their bullshit even though they stated Cotto MUST fight GGG next after his voluntary not even two months ago....

Sulaiman Trying To Work Out Cotto/Canelo/Golovkin

By Miguel Rivera

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Suilaiman is mediating the title situation in the middleweight division.

WBC champion Miguel Cotto will defend his title against Daniel Geale on June 6th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

If Cotto wins that fight, he will have to defend against mandatory challenger Gennady Golovkin, who holds the WBA/IBO titles and the WBC interim-belt.

But Cotto's handlers are instead hoping to face Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in the fall.

Sulaiman is trying to work out an agreement where Cotto/Canelo would fight each other - but the two of them would have to sign an agreement which guarantees Golovkin the winner.

"First, Cotto has to get through June 6. There are already talks of a fight with Canelo in September or October. We have been in communication with Golovkin, and he understands the importance of a Cotto-'Canelo fight, that was scheduled for May and did not happen. We are trying to mediate with all of the parties for two big fights, Cotto with Canelo and the winner with Golovkin," Sulaiman said.

But why ask for Froch and not Ward? Told yall GGG is about to move up but he cant be ducking Ward who runs 168. Got Em!!
Because Ward has a fight against Paul Smith at 172 pounds on B.E.T in June. After that he is planning another stay busy fight. Also the fight couldn't happen right now anyways because it would need to be on PPV to accommodate Ward's purse, HBO couldn't afford it, and it's not a PPV yet.

Anyways, looks like Froch is now saying he may be interested:

Hearn: I Spoke To Froch, He's Interested in Golovkin

Hearn is stating that Froch is now starting to show some interest in the fight, but whether or not he would actually get in the ring with Golovkin is unknown.

"I’ve now spoken with Carl directly about this and he is interested. I only want him to take it if he’s genuinely motivated because it is a high-risk fight. But it would be massive and we can fill Wembley again. Given Carl’s interest, we have already opened negotiations with Golovkin’s people and they are very keen," Hearn told Daily Mail.

"Golovkin is the most feared fighter in the world now and Carl doesn’t need this fight. But he says he is intrigued by how he would deal with him. He’s crazy that way."

So all this talk about why does he have to fight Ward when he wants to unify the MW is all pointless now he he fights Froch. Now my Ward talk is legit and if GGG fights Froch he needs to fight Ward after that. No excuses. Got Em!!

its all hype! ggg has a great team that pick his fights. don't believe that he'll fight anyone crap. it's all business first, which it should be. glad his team is calling out someone his own size in Froch and not the smaller guys who don't even bring up his name

He doesn't have to fight Froch either and he still wants to unify but money talks. If GGG vs Froch were to happen in the UK it would sell out Wembley stadium, 80,000 people, plus HBO revenue and UK revenue (presumably on UK PPV). That's a lot of money. Whether or not that will come to fruition is another story, just weeks ago Hearn was talking about how Froch would never fight GGG, too risky, too big of a puncher at this stage of his career and Froch himself has said in an interview on TV that he would avoid Golovkin at all costs. So this news today might just be about saving face in response to Loeffler calling them out this morning.

The downside for GGG is if he takes this fight now and beats Froch at 168, good luck getting Cotto and Canelo! It's the same problem that happened to Paul Williams - once he moved up there was zero incentive for any welterweights to fight him, and as a result Williams never fought at 147 again.

It's tricky. Take a good payday now for Froch and potentially lose out on Canelo, or pass on Froch, wait for Canelo who may or may not fight him within 1.5 years? Tough call.

Czar, I think you are rambling on without knowing anything about GGG and instead say wacky shit about the man so people here can type and call you names. It's like your on some battle shit, completely ignoring the facts but let me give you some:

FACT 1: GGG was calling out Froch in 2013 and said he wanted the fight. Google is your friend.

FACT 2: GGG called out the winner of Cotto Canelo and also, in the same interview, called out Jr., Froch and Ward. This was last year. Google is your friend.

FACT 3: it's obvious some of you have only recently watched GGG fights. Go and watch his older fights. Google is your friend.

FACT 4: it's obvious some of you do not understand this mans boxing abilities so let me spell it out. Won silver at the Olympics. Won gold at the world championship.

FACT 5: on one hand you guys are calling him a bum but you are forgetting that you're calling for him to fight a guy who is a gold medalist and was a top 3 p4p fighter! Not to mention the guy is in a heavier weight class. That DOESN'T make any sense. Why would you want a bum to fight one of the best fighters in the world but make excuses for the best fighter in the world to avoid his mandatory on the grounds that his mandatory is not well known?

FACT 6: multitasking is real. So to say his unification is pointless shows you don't know what you're talking about. (Refer to fact 1.)

Stop this GGG hate. It's one thing to have an opinion but at least back it up with facts and not "oh he's fighting bums" without knowing some history of the guys he is fighting and how they're ranked. He isn't fighting guys ranked 17th like that bitch ass nigga Cotto. He isn't sidestepping his mandatory like Floyd. He isn't going silent like Ward when bigger guys call him out (his people told Ward who exactly to call and to make an offer.)

And to cap it off

"If I move up, it's gonna be the right time...I'm held to a different standard, and I'm not complaining about it. I embrace it...some of the reasoning for people to want me to move up, like, to me it's a standard thing...they want me to move up because it's a perceived threat up there...they're making it seem like these fights are too easy, that there's nobody to fight, and the reality is there's a lot of guys to fight,"

guess who said that...

It's not that hard, you guys. GGG and his camp want BIG money and PPV money. He won't get it unless he moves up since Cotto vs canelo will happen. With the WBC saying the winner of that fight will be forced to fight GGG no matter what, and De LaHoya saying Canelo won't fight GGG 'til 2 years from now, what is GGG supposed to do? GGG's camp have even come out and said that they believe the Cotto Canelo fight won't even be for the title, which I believe. This is what I hope will happen for GGG: beat Froch, maybe get JCC Jr and destroy that fucker, then fight Ward and win or lose, fight Canelo. But if he beats Ward he will be ranked #1 p4p, and Canelo becomes champ at 160, 6.1 million ppv because they will charge at the most $80 for the ppv in HD!

The Floyd Manny fight could have reached those numbers if they had a better undercard and if it were $20 cheaper. We don't even know how the undercard for a fight like Canelo vs GGG would happen if it were to map out the way we would all like it to be. Don't forget, GBP had the best undercard ppv fights when Floyd had his first ppv's with Showtime, especially the May Canelo fight. After that, haymon gave us bullshit

Heresy that book you wrote doesnt matter. I know all about GGG and I never called him a bum. I just want him to fight better competition. You guys say he wants to unify the MW which is fine but if he calls out Froch than that means he is moving up so in that case he needs to fight Ward also. Thats all I am saying. Got Em!!
