Actually there is some truth to what WYNO707X4 is saying. We all know Floyd is the PPV king. At the gate, that's different. I do remember several of his fights not long ago that were not sell outs. Recently though the at gate revenue has been big and some of that Im sure are the Mexican fans.j
For example, Cotto-Floyd cracked the top 10 all time gate revenue, of $12,000,150.

Man I dont know about all of that. All I know is Floyd is the p4p king and PPV king and until otherwise is the best fighter in the world and the biggest draw. There aint nuthin else to say about that. Whether some seats are sold here and there I dont know but thats a very small picture amongst the big picxture. Bottomline Canelo is not bigger than Mayweather and thats why he is begging for the Mayweather fight not the other way around. Got Em!!

of course, I'm just sayin there was a little bit of truth to what was said is all. Obvioulsy floyd is the biggest name, biggest PPV star right now. But maybe they've been using Canelo to boost these numbers a bit and taking advantage, so to speak, of the loyal mexican fanbase on cinco de mayo.
I agree canelo needs to fight trout with or without floyd though. Just man up and fight him, if the floyd fight happens it happens, if not, who cares.

Team Canelo: If We Fight On The May 4th Undercard, It's Because We've Agreed To A Sept Bout Against, Floyd.

World Boxing Council junior middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (41-0-1, 30KOs) confirms that he accepted an undercard position on the May 4th card, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, which features Floyd Mayweather Jr . in the main event. He admits the situation is very difficult because he doesn't want to be fighting in an undercard position - but he is willing to do whatever it takes to land Mayweather in September.
"For me it is very difficult to be the co-feature. In fact, I did not want to do it, but I understood that you have to be flexible in order to fight Mayweather, and that is the only reason I agreed to do it. I don't need to be co-feature to Floyd Mayweather, but we must do our part [to make a fight in September]," Canelo said.
The Mexican boxer believes he will face WBA "regular" champion Austin Trout on the May date and he is waiting to get the official confirmation from Golden Boy Promotions.
"Austin Trout is the only opponent [being considering], no one else is on the list or anything like that, and it's almost certainly going to be against him. I'm just waiting to confirm that we have signed against the two [Mayweather and Trout], and I'll be ready," said Canelo.
Eddy Reynoso, Saul Alvarez's manager, said the negotiations are ongoing but the May fight depends on the second half of the deal - a September fight with Mayweather.
"Floyd will fight on May 4 and we will too. If we fight on that date, it is because we signed the fight against Mayweather in September," Reynoso said.

Yuriorkis Gamboa: Bradley Fight is Not
Going To Happen
Former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (22-0, 16KOs)
advised BoxingScene.com that a proposed fight with WBO
welterweight king Timothy Bradley (29-0, 12KOs) will not
come off. The fight was being discussed for an HBO
televised date of March 16th.
Gamboa, as reported, said there were issues with the
agreed upon weight. The Olympic gold medal winner
wasn't interested in moving up by 17-pounds, from super
featherweight to welterweight. Bradley was not interested
in dropping down to a catch-weight near the junior
welterweight limit of 140.

contender Zab Judah. The event takes place at the Barclays
Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Judah himself confirmed to BoxingScene.com that he was
advised of the same information. He was told that Garcia is
"trying to pull out." And the two-division
former champion, furious with the withdrawal rumors, began
bashing Garcia on Twitter.

Also about Calzaghe, nearly all of his first half of his fights were knockouts if I remember correctly. To be fair, he started having major hand issues in the later half of his career, much like Mayweather. People forget that Floyd was actually a pretty damn good puncher at the lighter weights

I never said he was knocking dudes out cold but he swarmed dudes. If you get caught with a hard punch and you're reeling and a dude just starts letting his hands go, a lot of fights get stopped that way whether the dude is being his cleanly or not. If the dude isn't throwing back, refs will stop the fight a lot of times. The Manfredo stoppage was lame though.
I knew Garcia was a bitch! That dude is very slow and he knows his run is coming to an end whether it be Khan or Matthysse. I think he will beat Judah if they fight but thats not a guarantee. What a mark, let his dad do the talking and then run wow. I hope this isnt tru. Got Em!!

I can tell you didn't watch the video. There were like 5 highlights of guys throwing punches and the ref steps in to stop the fight to the amazement of the opponent. The manfredo wasn't even included!

Hopkins edged it out imo. He landed all the clean effective punches. Calzaghe threw alot but was hitting air. Only reason it was close was because Hopkins tired in the later rounds. Joe's father and trainer was telling Calzaghe before the 12th round he needed a KO to win so even his father was surprised.
Honestly doesn't matter though. The loss doesn't hurt Hopkins legacy and I don't think the win does much for Joe's. Clearly a younger bhop who had amazing stamina would have won much clearer. But I don't really spent time arguing the fight neither guy fought well.

Hopkins had stamina against a young and fast Pascal twice and those were tough fights. He even did pushups comin out of the 6th round lol. Also I never buy that corner bullshit. Sumtimes they tell the fighter he is winning when he is losing and vice versa. I thought the fight was called right personally and Hopkins lost later rounds to lose the fight. No biggie just curious of what u thought. Got Em!!
Hopkins clearly doesn't have the stamina as he did when he was in his prime, this is undebatable. Not only was Hopkins 43 but he has a thyroid condition as well. This is why his punch output is so low post 40. Hes had to mofify his game quite a bit as hes aged. Watch a young Hopkins vs say, Glen Johnson for example and Hopkins was a machine, never stopped throwing. He could have fought 15 rounds easy.
Pascal fights at a slow pace so that fit more into an old Hopkins game plan. Still over 40 Hopkins has been inconsistent, he had stamina problems against a shot to shit roy jones who hardly threw any punches.
As far as scoring, i really don't care either way. Like I said neither fought very well. I don't have a problem with scoring for Calzaghe. Only time I speak on it is if some dumb ass says something like "Calzaghe beat Hopkins ass!" then I have a problem since Joe barely escaped with an ugly split decision.
