@training camp. Defense looks raw especially the front 7. Also if alex starts fucken up early in the season dont see why the 49ers would hesitate to start kapernick he and braylon already are connection on deep routes

yea i went and they might have been giving ou tickets, they had a grip of booths and promotions going on but since i arrived right before practice started i didnt pay them any attention.

On another note whitner and rogers are major upgrades. They looked great all 3 hours i was there. I know im stating the obvious but Willis was beasting out there it's crazy seeing him up close. Gore hasn't loss a step and seems to be fully recovered and ready to have another great season. Taylor Mays has the same effect on me that willis does. I really would hate to have to get rid of this guy. His size and speed alone make me think that they have to find a area where he can excel and contribute to this team. Even if it's just playing special teams, I mean no one on defense has his size except Willis. Braylon looked huge out there too and seems to be getting used to Kapernick. They gel real well together. Although i will say he seemed to drop a lot of passes nothing alarming but still dropped a good amount of passes. I definitely feel more confident about this squad then i did with last years squad. With that said with the way our QB play is as of now, I honestly dont think the 49ers have the slimmest chance of taking the NFC west. The QB's are very inconsistent. The team is moving in the right direction though and i can see Kap being the QB of the future.

^good shit man.

Wish I lived in the bay so I could check out raider practices n shit but that's coo though ironlungs. Glad u had a good time.

I stated earlier that 9ers started out slow wit signing players n lost some players in FA but they got some great players. No big names but players that'll contribute to the team in a big way.

raiders don't open it up to the public... they're weird... Al always has to be different though

Kap was raw at Nevada, he might turn out to be pretty good. I was kinda hoping the Raiders would sign him, and just have him sit on the bench for at least a season or 2 to soak everything up

yea this is my 3rd year going to a 49er training camp and they're always a great time. It's dope to see the old players interact with the new coach and new players that just joined. Also it was my first chance to get a look at the new roookie Aldon Smith. The guys is just as tall if not taller than lawson but has way more muscle. He is going to tear shit up. They had a gym set up outside too so after practice was over we got to see most of the defense hit it up.

Did anybody else go to training camp today or plan on attending one of the up coming practices?

that sucks raiders dont open their camp, but Al has always ran things different then everyone else so it doesnt surprise me. He should atleast allow 1 or 2 days of open practice. I sometimes do think the 49ers offer to many days. They offer like 6-9 days i think. For some reason i feel they dont get as much done during open practices as they would for private practices.

Yea best case scenario would be the 49ers let him sit for atleast a season, but with A smith playing i could see the 49ers getting desperate if shit hits the fan and starting Kap. I mean what other choice do they have masoli? With that said i hope Alex has a decent year that way that doesnt happen.

Lol doesn't surprise me al doesn't allow that but my over all point wit my earlier post was that it'd be dope to live in the bay so I could follow my team more closely cuz up here in portland, there's obviously no NFL team n most r Seahawks fans. The local news mainly covers the Seahawks so I RARELY hear anything raider related unless its some big national news type shit. I'd love to go to a raider game too. I went to a Seahawks vs raider preseason game a few years back but that's nothin compared to a REAL game. Imma drive/fly down to the bay one of these days n hit up a raider game. It's on my bucket list lol.

And I agree meta, I wanted us to draft kap as well n let him sit and learn the system n get used to the NFL game. I also read that raiders wanted to draft him wit the 2nd rd pick n tried to trade up wit NE to draft Kap cuz they knew the 9ers liked him as well but couldn't agree on the terms of the trade. But I'm happy wit lil wiz though cuz it starts wit the line n wouldn't matter whos behind the center if the line doesn't protect the QB. I'm glad Al addressed it n this past drafts QB's were weak anyways. Next year will have better QB prospects IMO n hopefully our OLine will be improver by then lol.

That's dope man. I hella wanna go to something like that.

How many fans actually show up? Like a lot?

Also, seems like most of the 9er fans were either upset or confused on the aldon smith pick but watching him in person, how do u feel bout it now?

Everyone knows Kap is gon be the future of 9ers QB wise, atleast that's the plan n if smith fucks up early, I don't see why the team wouldnt start Kap n let him get some live reps in NFL games for experience.

Kap is a system qb (pistol) and Nevada was a running team, that has me worried. But if anybody can get the most out of him, its Harbaugh. But it won't suprise me to the 9ers go after luck next year...

just a guess but i would say around 1,000 - 2,000 fans show up, and yea tickets are free its all general admission. As for living out of the vicinity of your team i bet it's tuff to keep up with your squad as far as watching games in person.

To be honest before the draft i didnt know a single thing about Aldon, i was hoping the 49ers would pick up Von Miller or Patrick Peterson. Once we drafted him though i did some research on him and heard nothing but good things. He is very young and still has a lot of growing to do. So far from what i read from training camp and seen for myself i think this guy is the real deal. Not saying he will turn into Demarcus Ware but defenitely think he has a huge upside which he should if we spent the 7th pick on him. I think he will be the best pass rusher we've had in the last decade. Something the 49ers have desperately been lacking.

Im not an offense coordinator but last year and this year in training camp everytime ive seen alex smith take a snap from the shotgun formation/spread offense he always seems to tear shit up. Why dont the 49ers use it more often, or is it a system that a defense will adapt to quick. Therefore an offense coordinator having no choice but to switch it up. Or do we just not have the personnel to make the type of offense work? Also im not asking to run the pistol offense but something similar to what the saints and patriots run with all those receivers.

The saints and pats have 2 of the best qb's goin right now, Alex has been set up for failure his entire career. From rushing him back from his shoulder injury to a different offense every year to terrible coaching, etc...I'm not mad at Bringin him back this year, he was the beat option we had, the kid has talent he just lacks consistency and a o-line.

The NFL is a ball control league. Control the ball by running the ball. We try and run a spread offense, we essentially take our best player outta the game.

NFL Network's Michael Lombardi confirms ex-head coach Mike Singletary was alone on the Taylor Mays draft pick last season.
We had heard Singletary and GM Trent Baalke were at odds over the pick, and suspected Singletary "pounded the table" for the tweener safety. Lombardi's report explains Baalke's willingness to pull the cord on one of his own picks after just one season.

Free agent FS Dashon Goldson is visiting the Patriots on Sunday.
The Boston Globe's Shalise Manza Young reports the Patriots are unhappy at free safety, and Goldson would be a legitimate threat to Brandon Meriweather's job if signed. Goldson has starter's talent, but has thus far priced himself out of anyone's plans.
