So WTF is up with Timothy Bradley? Man, I was really high up on this guy but he's looking bad right now.

Khan is willing to fight Maidina, Alexander is willing (and has been calling out) Bradley. And bradley wants no part of it?? He's going to fight some bum next?? Bradley needs to step it up, yeah he's won some good fights and he deserves to be ranked #1 at 140, but come on, don't turn down such a great opportunity!

LOL, you funny! Now that Pac is somewhat caving in you're ready to give that blood test/Beyonce scenario a rest.

Well I guess we'll have to see what Mayweather says now.... I don't understand Pacquiao and his camp. Maybe they want to cash in before Pac or Floyd retires.

You make yourself look like a hypocrite though 206, you said "I see no reason why Floyd wouldn't accept 14 days. $50+ million. No reason."

That's the same shit Floyd and his fans have been saying about Pacman since they've been negotiating. Now that Pacman has caved in, you say the ball is in Mayweather's court and it's on him to accept.

Idiots should have accepted the offer when it was on the got damn table. We know damn well Floyd's head/ego may have gotten bigger since he whooped Mosely's ass.

Wow man you are mental.

What do you not understand??? That pacquiao wants to fight floyd? That the WORLD wants this fight to happen?

You make yourself look like a hypocrite though 206, you said "I see no reason why Floyd wouldn't accept 14 days. $50+ million. No reason."

I'm talking about right now you fucktard. Right now. There are many reasons the fight negotations failed last time, most importantly Bob Arum & Richard Schaefer/Golden Boy and the media. Shit would have never been as bad as it was if it wasn't for those guys talking shit and bad mouthing eachother to the media. Meanwhile Floyd didn't say a word nor did Pac.

Idiots should have accepted the offer when it was on the got damn table. We know damn well Floyd's head/ego may have gotten bigger since he whooped Mosely's ass.
This fight should be even bigger now after the mosley fight

I don't know 2-0-Sixx... From what I've been reading, looks more like Pacquiao taking this fight to recover the millions he spent on his campaign to be elected to congress in his country: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=23912&more=1 Read that story for a few scenarios. Not to mention the outward change of heart in the eyes of alot of people who are starting to come out and say that the true P4P is Floyd. I'm sure Pacquiao wants to fight Floyd, what I'm not sure of is why he is bending now when he could have just came to an agreement months ago and this fight would have happened by now.

Here is the link again to the story and why Pacquiao might be more willing to bend and take this fight now:

Here's a few quotes from the story:

A third and more likely theory shines with a hint of truth, bringing into play the fact that the mega-money Pacquiao pulled from his own pockets to help fund what turned out to be a successful campaign for a congressional seat in a local district in his country now needs to be replaced. Few legal options on the planet allow one to earn a minimal $40M for 36 minutes of hard labor, which makes this choice an easy choice to make..
The best take on this perspective came recently when both Yahoo Sports' Kevin Iole and boxrec.com shifted Floyd Mayweather jr. up to the #1 spot on recent P4P rankings.

Such a move forced Iole to address everything from racial slurs to personal threats, but it should be duly noted that a huge sum, (if not practically all), of these sentiments came primarily from die-hard countrymen of Pacquiao. For a less biased glimpse of reality, one can research the many excerpts taken from several boxing insiders, (both fighters and non-fighting writers), who suddenly feel that Mayweather's performance against Mosley proved that there's far more to him than many once believed.

Congressman Pacquiao spent almost $10 million of his own money for the campaign.

Pacquiao made over $40 million in 2009 from boxing, not including his many businesses in the Philippines and his Nike endorsement, etc.. Needless to say the man is very well off financially.

My personal opinion is I don't care why he wants to take the fight all of a sudden, I just want to see them both sign the contracts and get the promo kicked off. No more talk, let's get this fight officially off the ground.

Hell yeah, a pension in the US after retirement is lavish living in the Philippines.

Most of the older Filipinos I know and work with all plan to take their retirement money back out there and live it up.

Manuel Vargas Loses 50% of his Purse For Positive Test

By Ryan Burton

In February BoxingScene.com reported that Mexican flyweight Manuel Vargas would have a hearing before the Nevada State Athletic Commission to see if he would be suspended for tested positive for the pain killer Hydrocodone after his knockout loss to Nonito Donaire. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Vargas failed to answer the complaint issued by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. For that reason the commission decided to fine Vargas $5,000 which is 50% of his purse, the maximum allowed.

Arum: Margarito, Number One To Replace Mayweather

By Mark Vester

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum told the Star-Telegram that Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s refusal to fight Manny Pacquiao at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas is not a deal-breaker for a November mega-fight. Mayweather will demand a Las Vegas venue. Arum is open to making the fight at the MGM Grand.

"If the fight happens and I hope it will, in mid-November in one of those two places," Arum said. "First of all, I'm not married to Dallas. I'm a Giants fan, not even a Cowboys fan. I love Jerry Jones, but I am not going to advocate putting any fight of Manny's [at a site] unless it makes the most sense, that's not necessarily Dallas.

When Arum was asked about a backup plan - he said former three time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito was the number-one guy to fight Pacquiao if a Mayweather deal is not made.

"I can't look at [a backup plan] now. I thought you were going to ask whom he would fight, but the number one guy [to replace Mayweather] would be Margarito," Arum said.

Arum plans to continue keeping away from discussing certain details of the negotiations through the media.

"Once you start negotiating through the media, it becomes ego driven. People can't wait to give a statement to the press. The flames just shoot up and there is no real opportunity for rational behavior to take over. Everyone is so interested is setting forth his position to the media that it becomes the contest. That involves me as well as everybody else," Arum said

Amir Khan Says David Haye Should Fight a Klitschko

By Nick Parkinson, courtesy of The Daily Star

AMIR KHAN has slammed boxing pundit Duke McKenzie for criticising him during ITV’s broadcast of his world title win last weekend.

The Bolton boxer wowed an American crowd for the first time with an 11-round beating of Yank Paulie Malignaggi at New York’s Madison Square *Garden.

But Khan, 23, was upset with former three-weight world champion McKenzie’s views.

Khan (left), who will this week decide whether to fight again either in Manchester or London on July 31, said: “The American TV network HBO bosses shook my hand and told me I’m a great fighter and very exciting.

“It is great to have them *supporting me but, on the other hand, we’ve got ITV.

“We gave the fight to them – but the commentary from Duke McKenzie was so negative. I don’t know if he has got something against me. I do what I do in the ring and he is going out there criticising me, saying I am ragged and sluggish.

“The thing is, people believe what the commentators say.”

Khan does reckon Britain’s WBA heavyweight champion David Haye should fight either Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko in America.

He added: “If David Haye went over there and knocked out a Klitschko he would become a sensation

David Haye-Audley Harrison is Rumored To Be on Tap

By Nick Parkinson, courtesy of The Daily Star

DAVID HAYE and Audley Harrison are this week expected to start talks for an all-British world heavyweight title fight later this year.

WBA champion Haye has been in negotiations with Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko about a world *title unification clash with the IBF-WBO ruler.

But talks have stalled and Wladimir, 34, is now considering *facing Russian Alexander Povetkin – the mandatory challenger for his IBF belt.

Harrison is in the frame as one of the possible next opponents for Haye, who stopped John Ruiz in a stunning first WBA defence last month.

Haye-Wladimir might have global appeal – but Haye against Harrison will be the biggest heavyweight fight in Britain for years.

Another option would be to face WBC king Vitali Klitschko, who *defends his title against Essex-based Pole *Albert Sosnowski in Germany on Saturday.

But Haye may opt for Harrison as his next opponent as his fight against Wladimir is shelved until next year.

Haye, 29, used to be a sparring *partner of fellow Londoner Harrison, who resurrected his career by *winning the European title last month.

The pair were once friends but have fallen out in recent years.

Harrison is recovering from *surgery on a shoulder injury but will be ready to fight again in October, when Haye is also looking to return.

“David knows in his heart what the outcome would be,” said Harrison.

“When I lost to Martin Rogan in *December 2008 I asked David to put me on his show and he didn’t even get back to me. That’s what I call a fair-weather friend because I have reached out to David many times.”

Does Mayweather have Plan B and C Excuses Ready to Avoid Pacquiao?

By Giancarlo Malinconico: Floyd Mayweather first agreed, during the negotiations for a March 2010 bout, that Manny Pacquiao must undergo random blood testing up to 14 days before the fight. Now that Pacquiao has agreed to that — surprise — 14 days is not good enough, and now he is demanding that the tests be conducted up to fight night. It is ridiculous to ask for blood testing within days of a fight because blood tests do take a physical toll on fighters. If you want simple evidence of that: just watch the 24/7 series featuring Mayweather and Shane Mosley in which the United States Anti Doping Agency had to wait hours for Mayweather to settle down because it arrived while he was in the middle of training — so much for the notion that drawing less than a teaspoon full of blood doesn’t hurt anybody.

All of the “armchair” accusations that Pacquiao is using Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) are unfounded. Pacquiao is just a better fighter at the higher weights. Pacquiao was knocked out when he was fighting under 120 pounds early in his career, but when he moved up in weight, his body was more solid and he was better able to take punches. When Pacquiao moved up to 135 pounds and higher, he further improved in those aspects while also maintaining his punching power and speed.

Yes, Floyd beat a 38-year-old Shane Mosley who was clearly past his prime. That changes nothing. The fight had 1.4 million pay-per-view buys, a similar number of buys that the Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto bout had. (Besides, something tells me that Pacquiao would have stopped Shane before six rounds if he fought him.) The Plan B excuse Floyd has now for not fighting Manny is that he wants testing up to the day of the fight. If, however, the media begins to criticize Floyd for going back on his original proposal, Floyd can always go to Plan C: request a 60/40 purse split in his favor.

Floyd has already stated that he can make 40 million dollars or more fighting anyone, and that he does not need Manny. Well perhaps Floyd believes that he can fight another past-his-prime fighter with a name or a smaller fighter with a name, and make “close” to the same money he would in an extremely dangerous bout with Pacquiao. I do not agree. If the Floyd-Pacquiao bout does not take place over Floyd’s unreasonable random-drug-testing demand, or a 60/40 purse-split demand, there will be a backlash.

In my heart of hearts, I think Floyd realizes that he is getting older, and a fight with Pacquiao is too risky for him at this point in his career; therefore, the bout will probably not happen – I hope that I am wrong.
