1.) The Kings cannot be ''back'' to being ''perennial contenders''...because they were never that. They were solid teams who were fun to watch (if you owned a cowbell and liked to root for the little brother who was molested by Tio Jorge) who could never get over the hump. It's going to take a lot more than a Maloof to get them anywhere significant.

2.) The Warriors without Davis, especially if they don't get Brand, aren't ''OK''...what happened to all of those nut huggers who were BFF's with Baron last season? LOL fucking losers.

are you just saying that because B diddy bolted outta Nor cal. because like I have been sayin, that roster had peaked and they would never be better then an 8th seed type team
No Im not just saying it because he's gone..this guy pretty much already laid it out and feels the same way I do...

giving baron 65 mil for 5 years guaranteed is ludacris for somebody who is injury prone and getting older (with no rings) ....third we now have 40 mil in cap space to sign all our young talent as well as any potential FA's...word is we are trying to pry elton brand from LA, we can offer him more than the clippers can now due to the Davis signing. When I mean more I mean we supposedly offered somewhere around 85 to 90 mil for 5 years and the most LA can do is 70 mil. Reguardless, we can now go shopping, only after we sign all the FAs we are going to will I judge Chris Mullin. I think he learned from the Dunleavy, Foyle, Murphy signings from his first year as GM in that you have to be very cautious who u decide to give max dollars to.

And lets be honest, yes Baron helped bring Bball back to the bay, but that nigga ain ever won shit in his career except a first round playoff series. If he demands top dollar he better perform like he deserves it. Meaning he better last all year long and not get tired at the end. MJ, Lebron, kobe, kg all play huge minutes and werent tired at the end of the year.

Source: Lakers Offer Odom For Artest

According to a league source, the Lakers have contacted the Kings regarding Ron Artest and are believed to be offering forward Lamar Odom.

Kings' basketball President Geoff Petrie declined comment on whether the Lakers had called.

"Right now, (Artest is) just a terrific player to have on your roster," Petrie said. "I don't really have any speculation one way or another (about his future). We'll see what other things – not specific to Ron – but if there's some other way we can improve the team or change the team, we'll take a look at it."

As reported by the SacBee, the Kings are interviewing forming coach Eddie Jordan today, and have a meeting planned in Vegas to interview Paul Westphal on Wednesday.

I don`t know how I feel about either of these coaches coming in to turn this franchise around, since neither of them have had any success in that department before. Their coaching success has been with talented teams. But maybe with the experience Jordan has under his belt now, that might help. We`ll see.

God, yes it was a very bad season, but hopefully we can try and snatch another pick in the 1st round with Kenny Thomas' expiring contract. I'd be very happy if we can get Ricky Rubio. SMH. Only 7 more days til the lottery.......

the queens are still in the league? i thought the lakers got rid of them in 04.
Good shit to hear Laker fans talkin shit in here. Even though the Kings are dead last in the league, they still have to check on the Kings. Much love for the props folks.

Can you refresh my memory though. How many titles have the Lakers won without Shaq?

[QUOTECan you refresh my memory though. How many titles have the Kings won with or without Webber?[/QUOTE]

What you fail to realize, you speaking to one of the realest cats you`ll ever run into. I know my team is bad. I`ll be one of the first to state it. They need to fire Petrie and start over. Not a favorable thing to say in Kingsland, but sometime the truth hurt, ya feel?

But that`s the whole thing, sometime the truth hurt family, and the fact is the Lakers haven`t been shit w/o Shaq. These current Lakers are no different than my Kings were back in early part of this decade. They were second fiddle to the Lakers. They should have done it in `02, (game 6 was BS, but no excuse for game 7) but they folded under pressure. That`s what these Lakers did last year to Boston and what I see them doing this year to Cleveland. Best in the West. Just not good enough to be titled Champs.

Maybe Kobe should buy the team a ring like he did for his bitch and apologize for raping em of titles and running Shaq out. Just thinking about what could have been for yaw,............ makes me laugh at that princess.

^^^^ well thats why its so important for Kobe to win a title this year. Last year people forget that we werent even picked to be in the playoffs at the beginning of the season. So as mad as i was we lost to the celtics, i had to give my lakers a break because we did lose to a team that had Allen, Garnett and Pierce. So it aint like we completely choked. This year though if kobe doesnt win a title their is no excuse. We are clrearly better on paper i think than the cavs or any squad we might face in the playoffs. Either way im still going to be a laker fan no matter what the outcome is and you and i both know that kobe could get 6 rings and people will still find a way to talk some non-sense because he's kobe. I would probably hate him too if he wasnt on my squad!
