Hot! Young Jeezy named Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic Records

At one point, Young Jeezy was one of the biggest stars on Def Jam and would release a new album every year. Jay-Z was running Def Jam at this point and there were a number of changes, following his departure. Once Jay-Z was gone, the focus at Def Jam changed and artists not named either Kanye West or Rick Ross had trouble landing a release date.

Young Jeezy was the classic case, as he was trying to release Thug Motivation 103. The album was met with numerous delays. Initially, Young Jeezy intended to release TM103 in 2009, but the album eventually was pushed back until 2010. Despite releasing a popular single, “Lose My Mind” featuring Plies, the album still did not keep a 2010 release date.

In the final days of 2011, Young Jeezy released TM103, which was met with great critical reception. After releasing his album, Young Jeezy focused on the CTE album and his own next solo album. During this time, it has been safe to say Young Jeezy has continued to focus on business, as he was recently named the Senior Vice President of A&R for Atlantic Records.
