Young Dolph Spends Big On With New Video “Royalty”
It’s good to be the king. In the video for “Royalty,” a highlight from his King of Memphis album, Young Dolph shows us just how good it can be, flexing his wealth in a massive mansion he shares with beautiful women, a monkey, a giraffe, and even a white tiger. Filmed in the Hollywood Hills, the video does not merely show off Dolph’s considerable ends, but also “celebrates Black Excellence,” says Dolph. Inspired by Coming To America, “Royalty” styles Dolph as an African prince, a title befitting his position as King of Memphis. The video arrives just in time for Young Dolph’s Royalty Tour, which commences on August 9th in Dallas, TX.
Young Dolph has certainly kept himself busy, with “Royalty” being the third video he’s released in the past week, following up “Both Ways” and “Rich Crack Baby.” He has put out three projects this year, with the release of Bo$$e$ and $hooter$ in May, King of Memphis in February, and the upcoming Rich Crack Baby. Forbes named Young Dolph one of The Hip-Hop Cash Princes of 2016, placing him alongside Fetty Wap, G-Eazy, and Metro Boomin, among others. Complex also dubbed him one of 15 Unsigned Rappers Who Should Get A Deal After SXSW. “What makes Dolph exemplary is his affinity for memorable hooks and catchy call-and-response punch lines,” Complex raved. “This is Young Thug without the odd quirk.” With his vast catalogue of work and unmistakable persona, it’s officially the summer of Dolph – catch him on his national Royalty Tour stretching from Atlanta to Seattle in the coming month.
