With margins sky-rocketing since the introduction of the NMD and Ultra Boost in 2015, Adidas is changing the athletic footwear and lifestyle market one creative silhouette at a time.
Adidas on Sunday unveiled its latest football cleat, the adizero 5-Star 6.0, an ode to Snoop Dogg’s lavish style.
“Some of my main passions are music, fashion, football and helping the next generation of kids for the future,” Snoop said in a press release. “Working with adidas Football to design a cleat that blends all these elements was a no-brainer and our new cleats showcase how we’re evolving the cleat game and truly fusing sports and culture.”
The Snoop-inspired colorway of the adizero 5-star 6.0 features a gator skin-like upper to resemble Snoop’s business attire with gold accents modeled after the rapper’s jewelry fixation.
According to Adidas, “Snoop worked with designers to create a custom lace jewel that was inspired from the hood ornaments on luxury cars and added gold flecks on the shoelaces to match the gold plates on the cleats.”
The lightweight adizero 5-star 6.0 release on Tuesday for $120 online at Adidas.
